Trivia

When Chip runs into Jessica, he says that he and his group stopped at Merlotte's on the way back from protesting at an abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. On January 29, 1998, an abortion clinic in Birmingham was bombed by Eric Robert Rudolph (also responsible for the bombings at the Centennial Olympic Park and the Otherside Lounge lesbian bar, both in Atlanta). The Birmingham clinic bombing killed a security guard and severely wounded a nurse, both of whom worked there. Rudolph became a fugitive and a folk hero before being arrested in 2003 and sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole, which, as of 2010, he is serving in the ADX Florence "Supermax" federal prison.
