Watch: Danny DeVito Introduces New Theatrical Trailer for 'The Lorax'

6 December 2011 10:43 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." The first teaser trailer featuring fantastic use of the Polyphonic Spree's song Light & Day gave us a charming look at the world of Dr. Seuss as brought to life by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's adaptation of the classic The Lorax. Now a full-length theatrical trailer, with an intro by Danny DeVito, who voices the titular mustached character, gives us a better look at how the story is being expanded into a feature length film. Most of the Seuss adaptations have been disappointing, but I have a good feeling about this. Watch! Watch the full theatrical trailer for Illumination Entertainment's Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, via Yahoo: In this version of The Lorax, a boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. »

Theatrical Trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax

6 December 2011 10:36 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

A new trailer for Dr. SeussThe Lorax has gone online. Directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) the film is based on the childrens book by Dr. Seuss and tells the story of a boy searching for the one thing that will win him the girl of his dreams. In order to find it, he must learn the story of The Lorax, a creature whose world is in danger. This theatrical trailer delves pretty deep into the plot, and it looks as though the film will be taking the story a bit further than the book, focusing quite heavily on the boy’s exploits around town (ie. running from the "bad guys"). I’m really hoping the story’s environmental message doesn’t get lost in the silliness. Things have looked promising thus far, with some great visuals and charming work from DeVito, so I'm optimistic. Hit the jump to check out the trailer. »

Watch: New Trailer For 'The Lorax' Plants A Seed, Hopes To Grow Into Box Office Success

6 December 2011 10:29 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

You already know that the road of Dr. Seuss projects to the big screen is littered with carcasses ("The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" and "Cat In The Hat" in particular) but on the animated front, things have fared a bit better. "Horton Hears A Who" was respectful in its star studded approach, and the makers behind "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" (not really sure the author's name needs to be in the title, but we digress) are hoping they too can do the same. And for the most part, they have. A new trailer, awkwadly introduced by Danny DeVito (dear studios, having stars/directors intro trailers doesn't make them more special) gives us our best look at the movie yet, running nearly three minutes long. And it's not bad. While the humor isn't particularly gutbusting, the overall tone is charming enough, with some inventive design particularly when it comes to the dark elements of the story. »
