Boston tycoon, Bennett Kimball, dies from a lingering disease. Ruth Walton hires the team because he promised her children's foundation his entire fortune. However his Harvard lawyer, Peter Blanchard, sabotaged the new will to remain the sole executer and real beneficiary. Ruth's lawyer, Tara Carlisle, insists on tagging along with Nathan, but is too naive for his kind of work. They play hardball to get at Blanchard via his jailed former partner P J Orson, rightly suspected of mob connections.
