Storyline

Tyler tries to embarrass Stefan by throwing a football at him during practice. However, Stefan's super-skills of catching a football impresses Mr. Tanner who tries to persuade Stefan to join the school's football team. Meanwhile, Elena continues to ignore the semi-psychic Bonnie's warnings that Stefan is not who he claims to be. So, Elena invites Stefan and Bonnie over for dinner at her house. She hopes that they will get know each other better, but her plan ends up backfiring. Damon crashes the dinner with Caroline whom he has now been feeding off in order to further taunt Stefan. Elsewhere, Jeremy continues to question where he stands on his relationship with Vicki while Matt watches them with concern. Written by matt-282

Trivia

At dinner, when Elena mentions Bonnie is descended from a long line of witches, Stefan says that he knows there was "a history of Celtic Druids that migrated here (Mystic Falls)". In the books, Bonnie's magic powers come from her Druid family line. She's also fair and red-haired. See more »

Goofs

When Elena is eating dinner with Bonnie and Stefan, she is wearing a long necklace. When the camera cuts to Elena at one point, the necklace is tighter against her neck like a choker. Later, when the camera cuts back to her again, the necklace is loose around her neck. See more »

Quotes

Stefan Salvatore: [last lines; voiceover] I felt there was hope that somewhere deep inside... something in Damon was still human, normal. But I was wrong, there's nothing human left in Damon. No good, no kindness, no love. Only a monster... who must be stopped.

Caroline sleeps with Damon and when she wakes-up, she finds that she was bitten by Damon. Bonnie has a bad feeling when she touches the hand of Stefan but Elena ignores her warnings about her boyfriend and invites them for dinner at home to know each other. Meanwhile, Tyler throws a ball at him, but Stefan catches it before reaching him and Mr. Tanner invites Stefan to join the football team. Damon uses Caroline to be invited to enter in Elena's home and he succeeds in his intent. Jeremy and Tyler fight against each other and Stefan avoids the worst but exposes a weird situation to Elena. When the high school's football team is ready to play a game, Mr. Tanner finds Stefan and Damon discussing on the street and Damon shows to his brother that he does not have any humanity left.

"Friday Night Bites" is a good episode of "The Vampire Diaries" with Damon showing to his brother that he is nothing but an animal. Elena shows a great personality and it is good to see the dialogs among Elena, Stefan and Damon, especially when Damon tries to poison the relationship of his brother. On the other side, the "dramatic" situation between Jeremy, Vicky and Tyler is dull and boring. Bonnie is a promising character with her powers. My vote is seven.
