Comedy Showcase: PhoneShop
19 November 2009 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

You remember that series of one-off comedy show pilots, well it returned, and this was the second "episode" of the series. Basically recent graduate Christopher (Tom Bennett) is in a mobile phone shop, called PhoneShop, for its notorious one-day trial, where he has to make a sale before 6:00pm and secure the job. I will admit I did not recognise the plot as such, I didn't even get it, for me, the big reason I got into was for the boss character. Boss Lance (Lenny Henry in Pieces' Martin Trenaman) admitted to taking some sort of medication, and the effects were repetitive masturbation, as soon as this was mentioned I stayed with it. Also starring Emma Fryer as Janine, Andrew Brooke as Ashley and Javone Prince as Jerwayne. If this was going to be turned into a proper sitcom series I would probably watch it to see how it can be extended and how funny it could be. Worth watching!
