Storyline
While water-skiing in the LA marina with brother Jimmy, entrepreneur Daniel Su, a North Korean engineer who defected 5 years earlier, is shot fatally in the chest, probably from an inconspicuous sail yacht. Daniel's firm Susal Technologies has a DARPA (defence research) communications system contract. Business partner and financier Sally Morris is found, head smashed with lamp, in his home office. Marina security cameras recorded exiled North Korean extreme nationalist Lee Wuan Kai, who has a personal feud with NCIS director Vance. Callen's team must try to save her next probable targets, notably Jimmy and his wife Aimee. DARPA analyst Frank Davis claims the secret technology died with Daniel, but those two phoned each-other suspiciously often. Kai strikes again. Abby's forensics lead to a surprising second suspect and motive. Written by
