It's "The Wild Bunch" meets "The Exorcist"

You know how we're always taught, "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? That moral applies here, folks. The cover (of course), being the opening sequence -- we get a loud sex scene (no nudity, though) and gratuitous violence of Cody (Knauf) and the rest of his biker gang beating the ever-lovin' snot out of two dudes. The rest of the sex and violence only come to us in actual story-telling. So, back off, moral-do-gooders.

Cody and the rest of his crew (Roberts, Tagas) travel to the woods to celebrate his mom's 50th birthday. There, he runs into his ex-girlfriend of 7 years, Michelle (Shepis) and her new man (Wayne). He also re-connects with Michelle's younger sister, Megan (Prousalis), who, it turns out, was the one sending him all those letters while he was doing time for (allegedly) ratting out "The Crew" (their biker gang). When everyone leaves and Michelle comes back limping and covered in blood is when the real movie starts.

Did we need twenty minutes of back-story? Probably not. The writers could have probably spared us a little from the opening and maybe focused on explaining a lot of the ending. I'm not going to tell you what happens with Michelle, how it happened or why it even happened.... mainly because the movie doesn't even go into that itself. To be fair here, yes... the movie does show 'something' about how it came to be... but it didn't fully 'explain'. In that aspect, I don't know if the filmmakers didn't want to insult our intelligence or if it was just lazy screen writing.

For an indie film, it was actually quite good. The acting was way above par, the special effects were definitely above average and it held my interest and attention the entire way through. It was a shame that all the bikers looked like supermodels -- you would think they would have 'crudded' them up a little. What biker do you know has perfect teeth, plastic tits and the jawline of a Norse God? See more reviews at www.soveryterry.com
