The Escapists from award-winning, industry-veterans Team17 and Indie developers Mouldy Toof, recently celebrated its four-millionth download and is still racking up the downloads today.  One of the most requested features from the players of this multi-million selling title, that never saw the light of day, was a multiplayer option.  Now with the upcoming The Escapists 2 this feature is on its way and in the trailer below you can get a look at the actions you’ll be able to complete against your friends and fellow inmates online…

Team17 reveal the first map for The Escapists 2

18 April 2017 6:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Back at the beginning of March we brought you the news that the award-winning, industry-veterans Team17 and Mouldy Toof were due to release The Escapists 2: Welcome to Center Perks, the follow-up to the indie smash The Escapists, later in 2017.  Well below you can watch the first map for this upcoming game, a western inspired affair titled “Rattlesnake Springs”…

Howdy, partner! It’s well known in the old west that if you evade the hangman’s noose, the local Sheriff sends you upstate to Rattlesnake Springs. Rustled up alongside the lowest outlaws in the county, you decide to break out of this calaboose – by hook or crook!

The Escapists 2 is the forthcoming sequel to the multi-million selling, award-winning sandbox prison-escape game which will include, in a first for the series, drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play.

Escaping won’t be easy though. »

Brietta Hague becomes a 'soldier of cinema' with Werner Herzog

Herzog and Aussie filmmaker Brietta Hague.

One of four recipients of the inaugural Metro Screen Fellowship, administered by the Adg, Brietta.Hague travelled to Cuba in March to attend a two-week workshop with German director Werner Herzog..

I.m standing outside a decrepit textile factory in Cuba with Werner Herzog as young boys zoom around our legs on creaking, homemade Go-carts.

"And now you must make a scene. now you must make these carts crash!" Herzog orders in fluent Spanish.

The children have no idea who he is but something about his tone makes them obey. They ready their carts and charge headlong into each other. Herzog smiles in satisfaction.

"As a boy I made toys like this," he tells me, remembering a childhood without shoes in rural Bavaria after World War Two. The 74-year-old seems supremely comfortable in the streets of rural Cuba.

‘Carrie Pilby’ Review: Bel Powley Stars In Coming-Of-Age Comedy About a Young Genius Who Is Sexless in the City

31 March 2017 7:21 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

The only remotely unpredictable thing about “Carrie Pilby,” a bland romantic drama that wastes and waters down the abundant charisma of its young star (“Diary of a Teenage Girl” breakout Bel Powley), is that it suffers from the exact same problem that turned last week’s “Power Rangers” into such a lifeless bore: By trying to provide a little something for everyone, it ultimately offers precious little to anyone. From low-budget stories of sex in the city to blockbuster reboots about teens who overcome their sexting scandals by fighting giant alien monsters made of liquid gold, it seems that even the most outwardly dissimilar of movies are united by their shared compulsion to sacrifice insight at the altar of accessibility (union agreements come and go, but mediocrity is forever).

But even that fatal flaw could be seen coming a mile away, especially by those who were already familiar with the »

It’s Time for Jon Stewart to Return to TV

3 March 2017 4:38 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Hey Jon, you know you can come back, right?

On the Feb. 27 episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” comedian Jon Stewart — former host of “The Daily Show,” and Colbert’s former boss — emerged from underneath Colbert’s desk to talk a little bit about the state of the nation. Stewart’s done this gag before — back in July, during the Republican National Convention, Stewart entered the same way, dressed in a grey t-shirt and looking vaguely wild, talking of “the farm” he’s retreated to. Since leaving “The Daily Show” in 2015, Stewart’s made a carefully scattered number of appearances on “The Late Show,” “Full Frontal,” and “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.”

He’s grown out his beard, talks a bit fondly of the animals he’s living with, and eschews the suits-and-neckties that he wore for 16 years as the anchor of Comedy Central’s flagship show. In »

Anna Kendrick Wanted as Santa Claus in Disney Christmas Comedy

11 January 2017 3:15 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Disney has had a truly staggering amount of success over the last year at the box office and interestingly enough, a lot of that still has to do with their original movies. Despite having massive franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, their original movies like Zootopia still do very well. So, why not do an original Christmas movie with Anna Kendrick? It looks like that may be the plan and what's more is that the 31-year-old actress would actually be playing Santa Claus.

According to a report from Variety, Disney is eyeing Anna Kendrick for a currently Untitled Disney Female Santa Claus Movie that would see her taking on the role of St. Nick. The movie has a working title of Nicole, which seems fitting based on the description, but that title hasn't been finalized. Here is how Variety is describing the movie.

"Currently going by the running title "Nicole, »
