Gigolo/high school teacher Ray (Thomas Jane) fails in attempting to turn Client Jemma into girlfriend Jemma. As difficult as she was to please as a female John she remains the one woman he has met since his split from his nightmarish shrew wife (Anne Heche) that made him feel anything like he did in happier times. Jemma's requests of him doing complicated romantic things as a prelude to their trysts appear to have had more of an effect on him than her. This episode reveals her true motives.
Sulking Ray dines with his ex-wife, their kids and her dorky but affluent new husband Ronnie (Eddie Jemison).
Sensing tension he steals a private moment with the man who has displaced him and dryly asks Ronnie a few questions the guy is already asking himself the substance of which is really just one question i.e. "Ya got what ya wanted Chump but do you want what ya got?". The moment flatters neither of them but Ray felt so bad about how his life came apart he can't help himself.
Crass, profane and generally inconsiderate to the point of being hurtful Lenore re-establishes contact with Tanya (Jane Adams) offering a lead on a new client for Ray i.e. a sexually frustrated co-worker 'Horny Patty' who is very easily satisfied but not particularly wealthy. Lenore is set to join the series as a regular.
