It's a romantic comedy, is the first romantic comedy for men. 'Lecciones para un Beso' (Lessons for a Kiss) tells us the story of Alejandro (José Julián Gaviria), a teenager from Bogota who is forced to live in Cartagena de Indias, because her mother (Cristina Umaña) opened a restaurant in that city. But it is there where he falls for an astonishing girl named María (Vanessa Galvis), intending to do the impossible to give her a kiss on the lips. Due to his inexperience in the art of love, Alejandro enlists the help of three clients of the restaurant -a romantic (Oscar Mauricio Rodriguez), a liar (Bárbaro Marin) and a materialistic (Salvo Basile)- to be taught how to achieve his goal. These men not only accept, but also make a bet to see who gets to lead Alejandro to his first kiss. Written by Juan Pablo Bustamante

Loved it!
23 April 2011 | by See all my reviews

Loved the story! Loved the cinematography! Loved the art direction! Loved the city where the movie was shot! Loved the boy, the lead actor! Is simple: I loved the movie!

It's very refreshing for Colombia's big screen to have this type of films with new proposals, new ideas, new stories.

Maybe it was just me, but I was tired of the guerrilla-drug-violence plot coming over and over again to every single movie shot by colombian directors. But I have to make myself clear: that's is not the only good thing of the film, it has a very original story, a very well put direction, beautiful colors, great locations, gorgeous actors... The only way to understand my infatuation with 'Lecciones para un Beso', is by watching it!
