Goofs

Jack tells Phil Holden of the NSA that the terrorists got off the Williamsburg Bridge at West Broadway and Roebling Street. The Williamsburg Bridge connects Brooklyn to the east side of lower Manhattan, and whereas Roeblin Street is near the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn, West Broadway is on the west side of Manhattan, nowhere near the bridge. In addition, if the terrorists had gotten off the bridge in Brooklyn, it would mean that they actually left Manhattan, which makes no sense because they were trying to get INTO Manhattan. Also, when the terrorists' vehicle stops near the foot of the "Williamsburg Bridge," they have a full-on view of the Empire State Building, which is considerably further north from that spot in Brooklyn. Chloe Brings Back CTU To Its Functionality
14 September 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Jack calls the National Security Agency, gets them up to speed and has them close all bridges in and out of Manhattan; he, Cole and CTU Agents Owen and King take the riverfront. They find Samir and Tarin loading the bomb into a Zodiac raft, but are pinned down by sniper fire and cellphone jamming from Samir's rearguard. NSA sends IT support, led by Frank Haynum, to CTU to help them restore functionality; he immediately butts heads with Chloe. Concerned for Jack's safety, Chloe proposes a risky shortcut that will either restore telecom in half the time or electrocute her. After pulling a gun on Haynum and almost being arrested, she obtains Hastings' support, tries her method, and succeeds. Jack orders his squad to make for a land-line phone, but his undisciplined troops panic; both King and Owen are killed. Jack then sacrifices himself as a distraction, killing several assailants but taking several rounds to the vest while Cole runs to the phone; only the intervention of Renee Walker, whom Chloe had mobilized to search for him, saves him from death at the terrorists' hands. Finally, Dana turns Officer Prady away with news that the EMP wiped out the security-camera footage he had come to her for. Prady then makes good on his threat to contact Hastings, so Dana strangles him and hides his corpse in a ventilation duct. She then calls Samir and tells him to hurry, as she doubts she can retain her cover for much longer.

In summary, here the events that happened during that hour:

1.Jack Bauer calls the NSA and tells them that CTU New York is offline and that they must shut down bridge and tunnel traffic.

2.Renee Walker receives a phone call from Chloe O'Brian saying she can't locate Jack.

3.Chloe O'Brian pulls a gun on Frank Haynam after he rejects her plan to restart CTU.

4.Samir Mehran loads the nuclear fuel rods into a boat for transport across the East River.

5.Dana Walsh strangles Bill Prady after he refuses to drop his inquiry into Kevin Wade's whereabouts.

6.Dana calls Samir and promises to help him escape CTU's surveillance, proving herself to be a mole.

Again,we see another rehashed element - a CTU mole. What else is new?Day 8 is just getting repetitive just what I have said.

But this episode proves to be the best for the season.CTU New York struggles after its systems are destroyed in the aftermath of the EMP explosion, forcing Chloe O'Brian to take drastic actions to get it back up and running. But not only that.We also see the action heats up especially with Jack as he gets pinned down by a sniper. Finally,we see an dramatic element in it when Kayla Hassan is finally reunited with her parents.

They're the reasons why this a fun and entertaining episode.
