Jack Hijacks A Helicopter

Author: Desertman84 from United States
14 September 2012

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

President Taylor, in doubt about her complicity in covering up the Russian conspiracy, is convinced by Logan to hire a private security firm to take Dana Walsh into custody. These men, led by Mark Bledsoe, have orders to obtain by any means necessary the evidence she was going to give to Jack, thus removing her leverage over the treaty and Taylor's administration. Ethan Kanin resigns from his position in protest, while Bledsoe calls Logan's aide Jason Pillar, asking what should be done with Dana after they are finished with her: in his professional opinion, they should kill her and arrange for it to look like she was escaping. Jack lands his stolen helicopter and evades pursuit on foot, contacting old friend Jim Ricker for help in re-arming. He also obtains several pay-as- you-go cell phones, from which he pleads with Chloe to help him gain access to Walsh. Chloe agrees and is able to obtain the location of the security firm's hideout, but decides to instead lure Jack into a trap at a CTU safe house, where Cole and his team are positioned to capture him. Jack, who knows Chloe too well, sees through the deception, takes Cole hostage, and then convinces him to assist in rescuing Dana.

In summary, here the events that happened during that hour:

1.Jack Bauer hijacks a helicopter and manages to escape from CTU custody.

2.Ethan Kanin warns President Allison Taylor that if Jack exposes Dana Walsh's evidence against the Russian government, Taylor's involvement in the conspiracy may become grounds for impeachment.

3.President Charles Logan suggests that Taylor allow a private security firm to interrogate Walsh and find her evidence; she agrees. Upon learning this, Kanin resigns as Secretary of State.

4.Dana Walsh yells at Chloe to save her as Mark Bledsoe's team escorts her out of CTU. At a secure safehouse, they begin waterboarding her to learn where she has hidden the recordings.

5.Chloe O'Brian formulates a sting operation to capture Jack Bauer. The mission is unsuccessful, but Jack manages to convince Cole Ortiz to help him get to Dana and expose the Russians' conspiracy.

In this episode,we see how weak President Taylor is forced to compromise her principles in order to keep the peace agreement on track.Writers simply created a weak President of the United States out of her unlike her predecessors:David Palmer,Mike Novick,Charles Logan,Powers Boothe and Wayne Palmer.

While we see another rehashed element of 24 with Jack Bauer being in conflict with the authorities. On the run from the law, Jack turns to a former ally for help on a mission to break Dana Walsh out of custody and obtain evidence against the Russian government.

The show goes on to become predictable and less thrilling and exciting as Day 8 concludes.

A Mixed episode

Author: MarvelFan4321 from United Kingdom
10 October 2010

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

the last few episodes were disappointing on 24 standards and now it is starting to pick up.

First of the pacing of the episode was much improved and CTU Is finally starting to do something in the episode On the peace conference plot Taylor is starting to be like Logan to keep the peace conference alive.

Here is the biggest problem,it is starting to get very predictable and lousy.

On Jacks side of things after getting off the helicopter he goes to his only friend to get weapons and uses his house as a base and goes after Dana Walsh who was escorted from CTU to be tortured for information.
