Code Black‘s new cast member Moon Bloodgood must have made a good impression: She’s already been promoted to series-regular status for the upcoming Season 3, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Bloodgood signed on to join the CBS medical drama back in June in the recurring role of tough-as-nails L.A. paramedic Rox Valenzuela, who’ll be saving lives alongside ride-along partner Dr. Willis, played by Rob Lowe. (Lowe’s character shifts his focus to field medicine in Season 3, either by ambulance or helicopter.) Now Rox will be a full-fledged member of the cast, starting with Season 3’s fourth episode.

Seychelle Gabriel (“Falling Skies,” “The Legend of Korra”) has signed on to play the lead female role in Rooster Teeth’s latest feature film, meta horror-comedy “Blood Fest.”

Gabriel will star opposite Robbie Kay (“Heroes Reborn”) in the movie, which is currently shooting in Austin, Texas.

In “Blood Fest,” Sam (Gabriel) and Dax (Kay) are best friends who, along with the hapless Krill (Jacob Batalon, “Spider-Man: Homecoming”), must outwit the charismatic showman who runs an iconic horror-movie festival — who has a secret, diabolical agenda.

Also joining the “Blood Fest” cast are Chris Doubek (“Boyhood”), Rebecca Wagner and Zachary Levi (“Chuck”) with a cameo role. Previously announced cast members include Barbara Dunkelman (Rooster Teeth’s “Rwby”), Nick Rutherford (“Saturday Night Live,” “Crunch Time”) and Tate Donovan (“The Man in the High Castle”).

Blood Drive's Colin Cunningham Details the Evolution of Slink — Plus: How He Asked for (And Got) Full Frontal Nudity

25 July 2017 6:45 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Blood Drive‘s titular race for years had been a subversive affair sneaked to lookie-loos via closed-circuit TV. But as the gauntlet gained a following, evil overlord Heart Enterprises stepped forward with a national broadcast and (gasp/ugh) “notes.”

Julian Slink — the race’s Master of Mayhem — at first waved off the input, steadfastly “trying to retain his integrity as an artist, to come up with something of worth that is meaningful,” says portrayer Colin Cunningham. Or at least “something of worth” as pertains a contest where the cars are fueled by ill-gotten human blood. But in this Wednesday’s »

The hot rods competing in Julian Slink’s Blood Drive may be fueled by the red stuff, but Syfy’s freshman drama is powered by all manner of envelope-pushing perversity.

Airing Wednesdays at 10/9c (and not a minute earlier, whew), the grindhouse-style series stars Christina Ochoa (of The CW’s upcoming Valor) and Alan Ritchson (Blue Mountain State) as Grace D’Argento and Arthur Bailey, an experienced (and ribald) racer and the do-right lawman she is reluctantly partnered with on the titular gauntlet. If Kino Lorber's recent announcement that the complete The Outer Limits TV series is coming to Blu-ray has you nostalgic for a sci-fi/horror anthology series from the past, then you might be thrilled to hear that Warner Bros. is taking another step forward on their long in-development Twilight Zone movie.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. has set Christine Lavaf to pen a screenplay for the new Twilight Zone film, which will reportedly include a "single story line," as opposed to the multiple segments in 1983's The Twilight Zone: The Movie.

Along with Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce The Twilight Zone movie through his company Appian Way. Back in 2013, Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy) was in discussions to direct the movie from a screenplay by Anthony Peckham, but no deal was ever finalized and a new director has yet to be named.

Steven Spielberg Does What He Wants: 6 Things Every Fan Must Know About Hollywood’s Biggest Director

31 March 2017 11:49 AM, PDT | Thompson on Hollywood | See recent Thompson on Hollywood news »

We all know that Steven Spielberg floats at the top of the Hollywood food chain. He’s Hollywood’s most reliable director brand, and can get movies made that would never get a greenlight anywhere else — like Oscar-winning historical drama “Lincoln.” His next move? A high-profile Pentagon Papers film rumored to star Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep that Variety reports will open on December 22, and will inevitably be an Oscar contender.

How does he keep his enviable status, even at age 70?

1. Steven does what Steven wants.

Spielberg is a moving target, even for those at Amblin Entertainment who work closely with him every day. While he’s worth some $3 billion and likes to make money, his directing choices are driven by a complicated set of variables. He seeks to avoid any risk of failure. It all depends on where his confidence — and artistic drive — takes him. Is he ready to »

Rainn Wilson Climbs Aboard Star Trek: Discovery As A Last-Minute Recruit

31 March 2017 10:44 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It’s been a rocky road for Star Trek: Discovery, but the CBS All Access series is finally – finally! – ready to enter production.

After persevering through numerous delays and a showrunner that made for the exit door mid-way through pre-production – namely Bryan Fuller, who bowed out citing a scheduling conflict – Star Trek: Discovery has assembled a truly remarkable ensemble cast, with the most recent recruit being Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca. He’s not the main player of Discovery, though. Instead, that title belongs to The Walking Dead‘s Sonequa Martin-Green, who signed on to play Lorca’s Number One, Lieutenant Commander Rainsford.

There’s still room in Discovery‘s cast for another recruit though, according to Deadline, after the outlet revealed that The Office star Rainn Wilson has landed the part of con man and intergalactic criminal Harry Mudd in the show, which promises a “new ship, new characters, »
