This show has become on of my favorite TV shows, not just currently but of all time! Granted I wouldn't say it is my absolute favorite but its up there. The storyline is great and will allow the series to continue for quite some time without becoming dull or boring.
It was quite apparent that the 1st season of the show was very financially restrained (it seems networks want to see the show can pull ratings before putting a ton of money into it) and they were forced to settle with mediocre special effects, episodes with tons of dialog and little action, and a couple of moments where you might roll your eyes however there hasn't been an episode that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.
The difference in special effects between the 1st and the 2nd season were dramatic and instantly noticeable, but I was especially impressed with the new season 3 premier that at times looked like a box office blockbuster movie. It finally appears this show is now getting the production money it deserves!! Most good TV shows start off great and become stale over time as if all the good writing is at the beginning of the series to capture an audience, this isn't the case with Falling Skies. I think the fan base would agree when I say this show has gotten better and better with each following season. The actors have developed a great chemistry and have grown into their rolls to the point where even some of the actors I originally wasn't impressed with have grown on me, also as I previously mentioned the special effects are now in a completely different league then were they first started and are as good as anything else your going to see on TV!
Don't let the Negative Nancys sway you from giving this show a shot, If you like science fiction you won't be disappointed. I'm hoping we might see the show hit the big screen someday!!
