Storyline

Annie Jordan is arrested when it appears that she has abducted a little boy from his whom but she convinces Creegan that it is her son from whom she was coerced into parting by a child-brokering scheme, a paedophile group who buy and sell children. Acting on Annie's evidence Susan and DC Rivers pose as a childless couple desperate for an offspring at any price. Meanwhile Michael Hawkins, whose daughter was killed by Emerson, holds Creegan responsible for not saving her and comes after him. Written by don @ minifie-1

Absolutely awful
11 July 2012 | by (BC,Canada) – See all my reviews

My wife and I watched episode 2 (War Relief) of Series 2 last week and couldn't believe how bad it was after the first series had been such a joy. The plot was full of so may holes it made Swiss Cheese look solid and I gave it a review a few days ago along those lines.

Knowing that every TV series occasionally lays an egg and hopeful that it could only get better from there, we decided to chance the 3rd episode in series 2 (What Price a Child) last night. Boy, were we wrong. This time the plot had so many holes it was reminiscent of a sieve rather than just Swiss Cheese. We're not talking laying eggs here but perhaps other items I don't dare put into print.

I won't go into details as it would count as spoilers but will only suggest that people not waste their time with this disappointing rubbish. Robson Green and Nicola Walker should be ashamed of themselves for agreeing to appear in either of these episodes until they had been properly rewritten (if, in fact, they were savable as I'm not entirely sure they could be successfully rewritten they were so bad). That they didn't leaves me thinking less of them as actors unfortunately.

I had the third series on order from the local library but have now cancelled it. I can only suggest anybody interested in a quality production from Robson Green stick to "Wire in the Blood" and in Nicola Walker's case perhaps some of her work in MI5/Spooks would be acceptable. But this? I'm sure all of you have better ways to pass the evening.
