Storyline

A young Brooklyn boy witnesses the brutal murder of his mother and grows up obsessed with finding her killer. Thus begins his life as a quiet, straight-A student by day and a self-appointed hero at night. But what is a real hero? And who decides what is right or wrong? As the boundaries blur, Sean's dual life wears on his psyche and his two worlds careen dangerously close to colliding. Like a graphic novel you can't put down, Boy Wonder challenges morality, distorting perceptions of what is right and what is justified, as it races to its shocking conclusion. Written by Michael Morissey

Quotes

[first lines]
Young Sean: Who wrote that one?
Mary Donovan: Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach.
Young Sean: I think that's the best.
Mary Donovan: Well, I don't know if there's a best. Music is subjective, it's different for every one. When I hear Mozart, I feel... out of breath, dizzy, overwhelmed. When I hear Bach, it's more like a good movie. What about you, what do you feel when you hear Bach?

Must see!

It's no surprise Boy Wonder won Best Editing at the Rhode Island Film Festival. Being a resident of Providence, I always try to make my way to the fest each year. And while every film at the fest is most definitely a hit or miss, I can honestly say I haven't seen such a stellar film as this fest in a long time as good as Boy Wonder. Not only was the editing intensely good (hence the award), but the cinematography was gorgeous and the story was strong. Expect to see Caleb Steinmeyer in the near future. There's no way some up-and-coming director won't want to hire this kid. What a great performance. His intensity and method acting was incredible in this film. And and all, if you have a chance to see this film, I highly suggest you do. You won't be disappointed.
