Storyline

"Fiasco" is cross-cultural comedy about an Arab girl, Noura, who is secretly married to her gay, American best friend Daniel in order to obtain a green card to prolong her stay in America and become a famous artist. The green card interview is in two days and everything seems to be going as planned, when all of a sudden, Noura's strongly conservative father Fareez shows up unannounced. Her father's surprise visit propels Noura's double life towards disaster. Written by N. Hamzeh

Fiasco
20 September 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I give "Fiasco" nine stars! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the short film. 'Fiasco' keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. The actress that plays Nora encounters many situations in a very short period of time. The different situations she encounters directly relates with the title and the number of people and personalities she has to deal with. "Fiasco" has a title that is very literal and that is one factor that makes this a unique film. Similar to a longer film named Liar Liar staring Jim Carey. Jim Carey's character did nothing but lie in the beginning. The theme of the movie and the title are in direct relation similar to 'Fiasco'. This short film leaves me with a feeling of curiosity.
