Episode cast overview, first billed only:

Dr. Rush relives his past life by sitting in the alien chair in an attempt to download critical data. A university professor, his wife's cancer returns and he is recruited by Dr. Daniel Jackson for what will be called the Icarus project. He's avoiding dealing with his wife's situation and throws himself into his work. In his dream-like state, he's trying to make sense of all the information he is accumulating. Back on the ship, the Destiny comes out of hyperspace and some of the crew investigate the planet below. They find an ancient archaeological site but are trapped when part of the site caves in. Digging them out is a slow process and the next jump is quickly approaching. Written by garykmcd

OK, so there may have been some technical difficulties as the previous reviewer stated, and I wholeheartedly agree with him. I hate it when shows make blatant changes just to suit the current episode, BUT finding out why Dr. Rush is the way he is, was worth every mistake.

Now that I realize that a lot of what he is does is done in fear, guilt, and self loathing instead of just being a narcissistic jerk, I no longer hate him. Of course if he does nothing with his new sense of self that his wife helped him with in his dream state while she was on her death bed, well that will be a different story. I'm not expecting a change overnight, but gradual improvement would be nice to see.

Another thing that bothers me about this show is that it is always so dark (as in lighting). I understand that they are on ship and there is no sun, but seeing Rush at home, school and outside, was refreshing and shooting of his "conscience" dream as well as the acting was excellent.

Besides, any Stargate franchise episode with Dr. Daniel Jackson in it is worth many stars...but that's just my opinion...love that guy!
