Did You Know?

Uranium is only weakly radioactive, emitting mostly soft alpha radiation that has a hard time even penetrating the skin. You don't get radiation poisoning from uranium - with the possible exception of a criticality accident. See more »

President Allison Taylor: I cannot begin to say how relieved I am that you survived this terrible attack, Omar.
President Omar Hassan: Thank you.
President Allison Taylor: I'm mortified this outrage happened on U.S. soil.
President Omar Hassan: I'm the one who should be embarrassed. My brother Farhad did this. He betrayed me, and worse, he put you in harm's way. I should have realized what he's up to.
President Allison Taylor: We can only be betrayed by the people we trust. He fooled all of us.

Renee Walker Is Back
14 September 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Ortiz survives and chases Davros into a nearby building; though Davros is killed, tattoos on his body link him to "Red Square," a faction of the Russian mob, who now become the main suspects of the hit on Hassan. CTU realizes that Renee Walker worked undercover to infiltrate Red Square, and she is brought in to help with the case. Jack finds himself concerned for Renee's safety and state of mind, as she had suffered a major breakdown after the events of their previous collaboration; he decides to go undercover with her. Autopsy on Davros' body reveals that he was exposed to weapons-grade uranium, and President Hassan reveals that Farhad was approached by shadowy individuals who offered to sell some to their country. Farhad, his cover blown, stabs a CTU agent and makes his escape, linking up with a Russian mob figure named Bazhaev, who indeed has uranium for sale; the proof is his younger son, Oleg, who is dying of radiation poisoning after poor safety measures in transporting the rods. Renee offers to track down one of her old contacts, Vladimir Laitanin, by meeting with Ziya Dakhilov, a paroled criminal with connections to Vladimir. Ziya explains that he cannot help Renee as long as he is wearing his parole bracelet, so she solves the problem by removing Ziya's left thumb with a power saw.

In summary, here the events that happened during that hour:

1.Farhad Hassan calls Davros to find out that his brother is alive and, under Davros' advice, he flees the scene stabbing a CTU agent in the process.

2.President Omar Hassan is informed by Brian Hastings that his brother was working against him. When the alarm at CTU detect traces of enriched uranium on Davros' body, Hassan informs Hastings that Farhad had been contacted previously by someone who wanted to sell decommissioned Russian fuel rods.

3.Sergei Bazhaev takes Farhad to meet his younger son, Oleg, who is dying from radioactive poisoning, to serve him as proof that the nuclear rods are already in the US.

4.Renee Walker is asked by Brian Hastings to go back undercover with the Russian mob to identify the seller of the nuclear rods.

5.Jack Bauer expresses his disapproval of Hastings' decision. When Hastings tells him there is no other option, Jack insists on going undercover with her. When Renee cuts the thumb of Ziya Dakhilov to take off his parole bracelet, Jack angrily intervenes. However, Renee refuses to abort the mission.

Again,we are exposed into rehashed elements taken from previous seasons of 24 like one government official trying to disguise as a mole,Jack trying to reject authorities to protect his love ones,a foreign villain in Farhad Hassan, someone being subjected to radioactive poisoning and of course,we all know very well that Jack will be in for another "longest day" in his life with many things keeping him busy.

One thing that would only make 24 fans happy is the return of the attractive Renee Walker, the FBI agent who worked with Jack in Day 7.
