Kathy Najimy has joined the cast of Mike Roma’s “Dating My Mother,” TheWrap has learned. The “Veep” star joins the indie comedy alongside Kathryn Erbe (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”), James Le Gros (“Girls”) and Paul Iacono (MTV’s “The Hard Times of Rj Berger”). Roma serves as writer-director on the project, which is about the close bond between a single mother (Erbe) and her gay son, played by newcomer Patrick Reilly. Sony Pushes Animation Slate With Hotel Transylvania 3 Update

Sony Animation is pulling out all the stops to boost its output for 2017 and 2018, and the result is some fairly wide-ranging news regarding both the television and film side of the operation. With its animated Spider-Man feature already moving full-speed ahead – with Phil Lord and Chris Miller on board – and television series of both Ghostbusters and Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs in development, the biggest titles currently under discussion are Hotel Transylvania 3, that film’s overall franchise, and EmojiMovie: Express Yourself.

Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe has already gotten off to a great start with the box office success of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The studio will release Suicide Squad this summer, with its 2017 releases Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1 currently in production. The studio has hit a stumbling block with one of its 2018 movies, though, as writer-director Seth Grahame-Smith parts ways with The Flash, due to creative differences between the filmmaker and Warner Bros. It isn't known if this departure will immediately impact the March 16, 2018 release date that has already been set.

Seth Grahame-Smith signed on in October to write the script and direct The Flash movie for Warner Bros., which will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash.
