Another series, another Jerry Van Dyke guest spot
9 November 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Dave's old partner Jerry Carroll (Jerry Van Dyke) is given his own TV show as a summer replacement. He shows up at the station to have Dave be a part of his show. Larry (Ronnie Schell) feels left out as his current partner. Jerry sings "I'm in love, I'm in love with Attila the Hun" (with Dave) and "I Have Everything But You", both of which was sung by his brother on "The Dick Van Dyke Show". Jerry Van Dyke made his rounds on TV series extending to even just a few years ago. His slow style of comedy never really stuck. He was given the lead in what is widely considered one of the worst series of all time, "My Mother the Car", but later found footing on "Coach". In this particular episode his performance stagnates, as does the show.
