This film is set in 2093 and takes place in the same universe as the 'Alien' movies. A group of explorers, including some archaeologists, are on an "undisclosed" mission. They arrive at a planet trillions of miles away from Earth. The team spot what they believe to be signs of civilization. They go to investigate and find more than just signs, they find conclusive evidence. But some of them have an ulterior motive for being there, including the Weyland Corporation. They believe that this is where the human race actually came from. Things soon turn from excitement to survival once inside their discovery. Written by

When Elizabeth has the alien "fetus" removed by using the "Pauling Med-Pod", she breaks the umbilical cord which is still internal, thereby leaving the "placenta" in her abdomen. This alone would probably kill her, causing her internal bleeding. However, as this was not a "traditional fetus" (as David described it), it is questionable as to whether a traditional placenta had even formed. Even if there was a placenta of some kind, it is still possible for women to have a "retained placenta" even after a C-section which can later be expelled from the body naturally or with the assistance of medication. Read some of the other reviews with low score for an in depth explanation of why this movie sucks big time. As many of the others who loath this movie I also only signed up to say: Boooo! Sure, the movie starts well enough, but soon goes down hill as the crew wakes up and starts to vomit.
If I had written this script I wouldn't have shown it to any one, I would have burned it. That Ridley Scott decided to direct it only confirms that truth often is stranger than fiction. I hope he got well paid for staining his reputation for ever. As the movie - it just makes no sense.
As Spock of StarTrek would summarize it up: "Illogical."
