This film is set in 2093 and takes place in the same universe as the 'Alien' movies. A group of explorers, including some archaeologists, are on an "undisclosed" mission. They arrive at a moon trillions of miles away from Earth. The team spot what they believe to be signs of civilization. They go to investigate and find more than just signs, they find conclusive evidence. But some of them have an ulterior motive for being there, including the Weyland Corporation. They believe that this is where the human race actually came from. Things soon turn from excitement to survival once inside their discovery. Written by

When David is talking with Charlie in the bar/lounge, David has the drop of black liquid on his right index finger intending to place it in Charlie's drink. But during the lead time, his finger touches other objects such as the glass, bottle and the metal billiard ball. However, it is plain to see that David always keeps his right index finger extended throughout the scene and the tip of it (where the black liquid drop is) does not come into contact with the billiard ball, glass or the bottle. The first contact the tip of his finger makes is Charlie's drink. See more »
Prometheus lived up to my expectations. I was satisfied with the movie and would recommend it to all Sci-fi fans. Please watch the movie with an open mind and don't make the mistake of comparing it to past Sci-fi movies. The special effects were excellent. Michael Fassbender as the android is the standout cast member.
There are some minor gripes. At two hours in length the movie seemed to be too short; it should have been about thirty minutes longer. A longer movie would have allowed for better character development. Some characters appeared to be superfluous and could have been omitted from the final script.
Overall I was happy with what I saw and I was mesmerized by the alien world that Ridley Scott created for his audience. Sci-fi is a genre that allows us to escape the drudgeries of our earthbound existence and wonder at what might be. Prometheus did it for me.
