Rise of the Guardians (2012) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Characters are seen hugging and holding hands. There is nothing beyond that.

Violence & Gore

Pitch throws his Black Sand on Sandy (the Sandman) who turns black and disappears.

Animated Violence throughout although it's not intense and suitable for most audiences

Some characters wear weapons throughout the film. eg. Santa has two swords

Profanity

Two uses of "bloody" (spoken by an Australian character).

None.

Young children may be frightened by Pitch and his Night Mares (smokey, black horse-like creatures).

Pitch temporarily destroys the Sandman, who is mourned by a solemn gathering at the North Pole. After this a girl says that all her dreams have become nightmares. However, the climatic battle, the children's faith allows the Sandman to come back to life and join the fight to stop Pitch.

One of the Guardians, turned into a baby version of himself when the children lose faith in him, is chased by Pitch's minions intent on killing him. However, when they finally corner him and pull him from his hiding place, the children's faith allows him to regain his original tall form and power to defend himself.

A character (Jack Frost) suddenly falls through the ice of a frozen lake. We see in detail how the body slowly sinks to the bottom. It might come as a shock.
