John Krasinski To Play Peter Parker In Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

As you surely know, there’s quite a lot going on with the Spider-Man property right now. Of course, Peter Parker himself is swinging around the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his next appearance set to be in Avengers: Infinity War. Beyond that, though, we’ve also got some stuff coming down the pipeline from Sony. Namely, Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The latter has been making headlines lately with some interesting reports, and though it’s still pretty far off, the project is certainly shaping up to be something that Spidey fans are going to want to check out. And that’s because after hearing that Tom Hardy may swing by to voice Venom in the pic (it’s unclear if it’ll be just as a fun easter egg, or if there’s actually some kind of connection between Into the Spider-Verse and Eddie Brock’s standalone outing

Tom Hardy’s Venom May Cameo In Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Now here’s a strange rumor…

As you surely know, there’s quite a lot going on with the Spider-Man property right now. Of course, Peter Parker himself is swinging around the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his next appearance set to be in Avengers: Infinity War. Beyond that, though, we’ve also got some stuff coming down the pipeline from Sony. Namely, Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

From what we understand though, there’s not set to be any kind of connection between the two. After all, the latter is animated while the former is live-action. Not to mention that Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are working on Into the Spider-Verse, have already confirmed that it’ll be its own thing. Apparently, though, that may not be entirely true.

A new report from Fandom Wire tells us that Venom will actually appear in the film and, get this,

A middle-aged Peter Parker confirmed for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Last week, Sony released the first trailer for its animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is set to mark the big screen debut of Miles Morales.

However, as we saw at the end of the trailer (and as anyone familiar with the Spider-Verse storyline will know), Miles won’t be the only web-slinger to feature in the movie.

According to Collider, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have confirmed that Peter Parker does feature in the film and will serve as a middle-aged mentor passing on the baton to Miles as the new Spider-Man.

You may have caught a brief glimpse of Peter in the trailer, as well as a headstone which suggests that Peter Parker is believed to be dead (suggesting the middle-aged mentor Parker could be from another universe):

Netflix and Dreamworks Animation have announced that they have a new slate of animated series projects in development that are set to launch next year. One of the most exciting projects that came with the announcement includes a revival of the classic 80s series She-Ra: Princess of Power!

I hope that the series turns out to be good. I think it's something that my girls are going to love. I'm sure most of you are familiar with She-Ra, but if not, she is also known as Princess Adora and is the twin sister of Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man. She was kidnapped as a baby by the Horde's leader Hordak. She is eventually given the Sword of Protection, which parallels He-Man's Sword of Power, gaining the power to transform into She-Ra.

The series is being developed by showrunner Noelle Stevenson, who is the Eisner-winning co-creator of Lumberjanes. Here’s

Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie casts Mahershala Ali and Brian Tyree Henry

With the recent developments of Sony’s Venom and Silver & Black Spider-Man spin-offs, it can be easy to forget the studio also has an animated Spider-Man film on the horizon, but they have just reminded people it is still very much in the works as The Tracking Board is reporting that Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali and Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry have been cast in the upcoming film.

Rather than focus on Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, the animated film will instead follow the adventures of fan-favourite Miles Morales, voiced by The Get Down’s Shameik Moore, as he becomes the new Spider-Man.

Henry will play Miles’ father, a man who has a checkered past but went clean when he decided to raise a family, while Ali will have a larger role as Aaron Davis, Miles’ uncle who is on the wrong side of the law.

In the pages of Ultimate Spider-Man, Davis was also the supervillain known as The Prowler. Ray Donovan‘s Liev Schreiber, however, is playing a mystery villain in the film.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were just fired from the Star Wars spin-off Han Solo, wrote and are producing the untitled Spider-Man film while The Little Prince’s Bob Persichetti and Rise of the GuardiansPeter Ramsey are directing.

'Wonder Woman' Sets a Record Opening for a Female Directed Feature

'Wonder Woman' Sets a Record Opening for a Female Directed Feature
Wonder Woman exceeded all expectations this weekend, delivering an impressive $100 million opening, the largest opening for a female-directed feature, vastly out-performing the previous record holder Fifty Shades of Grey, which debuted with $85.1 million back in 2015. Meanwhile, Fox's release of the DreamWorks Animation feature Captain Underpants came up a little short of Mojo's forecast while mildly outperforming the studio's modest expectations. Overall, the weekend dramatically outperformed the post-holiday weekend from 2016 by a massive 38% as the top twelve delivered a combined $176 million. At the top, Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot in the title role, went into the weekend boasting the best reviews out of the four films that have been released in the DC Extended Universe so far and the critical opinion definitely aided the film's awareness as the buzz only continued to grow throughout the week. Following an impressive $38.76 million Friday that buzz was no longer

Spider-Man Animated Movie Poster Leaves Its Mark
In just a few months, Tom Holland returns to the big screen as Spider-Man in his first stand alone adventure, Spider-Man: Homecoming, but next year, fans will also get a new Spider-Man animated movie, which will feature The Get Down and Dope star Shameik Moore lending his voice to the iconic Miles Morales. While we wait for additional voice cast members to come aboard, Sony Pictures unveiled the first two posters for this untitled animated adventure during the annual Licensing Expo, which is currently happening in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, these posters don't give us our first look at the animated Spidey, but it does feature the movie's new logo.

Collider spotted these photos on the convention floor earlier today, which showcases a graffiti-style logo that is being used for this animated Spider-Man movie. Unfortunately, the Licensing Expo didn't reveal any story details for this untitled animated adventure, but this project

Just because they’ve lent Peter Parker to Marvel Studios doesn’t mean that Sony aren’t interested in moving forward with their own Spider-Man-related projects. Chris Pine & Michelle Williams To Star In Spy Thriller From ‘Theory Of Everything’ Director

For a while, we wondered if Chris Pine would ever be able to escape the shadow of Captain Kirk. Before he starred in J.J. Abrams’ first “Star Trek” film, Pine was mostly known for tween fare like Lindsay Lohan vehicle “Just My Luck” or “The Princess Diaries 2.” Pine proved to be perfect casting in the role that was created by William Shatner, but subsequent starring vehicles didn’t often work: for every “Unstoppable,” there was a “This Means War,” or a “Rise Of The Guardians,” or a “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” or a “Horrible Bosses 2.”

But Pine’s been having a better run of it recently.

Spider-Man Animated Movie Has Found Its Miles Morales

Spider-Man Animated Movie Has Found Its Miles Morales
Just months after Sony Pictures confirmed that their animated Spider-Man movie will follow Miles Morales, the studio has finally found their lead voice actor. Shameik Moore (Dope) has signed on to voice this beloved character in the animated movie, with Liev Schreiber also coming aboard to voice an unspecified villain. Now that the studio is in casting mode, it remains to be seen how quickly the other roles will be filled out.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today, which comes just over a month after we reported that Ice Cube was being considered to voice Miles Morales' father, although his casting has yet to be confirmed. Ice Cube has previously worked with writers and producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller before, playing Captain Dickson in 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. Phil Lord and Chris Miller were originally slated to direct this animated movie, but they are now only serving as writers and producers,

The Animated Spider-man Movie Casts Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Liev Schreiber as the Villain

The animated Spider-Man movie just cast its two main leads! Shameik Moore will be taking on the role of Miles Morales. You might know him from the fantastic indie film Dope and Netflix's hip-hop drama The Get Down. He will be joined by Liev Schreiber (Ray Donavan, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), who will be providing the voice of the villain of the story. We have yet to learn who exactly that villain will be.

This is the first Spider-Man film project to be made that doesn't feature the Peter Parker version of Spider-Man and I'm excited to see how Miles Morales is handled in this adaptation. I'm sure it will be great because Phil Lord wrote the script. Lord has co-developed projects such as The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, and he's currently shooting Lucasfilm's Han Solo movie.

All we know about the movie at this point is that the story will
