24 August 2016 4:03 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Todd Lasance is sticking around The CW.

The Australian actor, best known to American audiences as Julian on The Vampire Diaries Season 7, has landed a juicy role on The Flash Season 3.

According to various outlets, Lasance will come on board the beloved series as The Rival, a character from the DC Comics universe who is a self-made, black-suited speedster.

Look for him to make his debut on The Flash Season 3 premiere, which is set to sprint away on Tuesday, October 4 at 8/7c.

Aside from The Vampire Diaries, Lasance’s television fumes includes Spartacus: War of the Damned and Home and Away.

The Rival is simply the latest addition of foes who will go up against Barry and company this fall.

We previously reported on Grey Damon stopping by the series as Mirror Master, while Dr. Alchemy has not yet been cast.

Todd Lasance Has Been Confirmed To Play Savitar On Season 3 Of The Flash... Or Has He?

23 August 2016 4:10 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Bit of an odd one for you guys here. You may recall some The Flash set snaps we posted last month that gave us a proper look at that mysterious black-clad speedster, and the actor that was playing him. The images clearly show Todd Lasance (The Vampire Diaries, Underbelly, Spartacus: War of the Damned) under the mask, and we recently learned that this new character was actually Savitar. Except, he isn't! Today, THR wrote up a piece on the villain, seemingly confirming that Lasance would be playing him in the process. Seems pretty cut and dry, right? Well, The Flash producer Greg Berlanti took to Twitter shortly after, refuting this report and claiming Savitar has not been cast yet. So, what can we conclude from this? The only logical explanation - since that's obviously Lasance in the costume - is that this fella isn't actually Savitar, and Barry Allen and co. »

We Have Some Theories About The Flash Season Three

18 July 2016 1:30 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

A spoilerific look into the next season of the CW hit.

Last Tuesday, DC revealed that Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) will don an adapted version of the Kid Flash costume in the premiere episode of The Flash Season 3 entitled “Flashpoint”. The surprise posting, along with official confirmation of the title alluded to in the Season Two finale and “leaked” on Twitter last month, were only the first newsworthy developments from the show’s first week of filming.

https://medium.com/media/4188fa02ce9356801a9fbf0da5232ed3/href

As early as Tuesday afternoon, various sources began to tweet set photos depicting Londsdale with a mysterious new speedster apparently played by Australian actor Todd Lasance. Americans may remember Lasance from roles in The Vampire Diaries and Spartacus: War of the Damned, but he has a much more extensive acting history in his home country. Considering that the CW has not announced his casting, Lasance »

Spartacus Creator Steven S. DeKnight To Direct Pacific Rim 2

23 February 2016 7:20 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Some bittersweet news here tonight, folks. Deadline is reporting that Legendary Pictures has found a director for the long-awaited Pacific Rim 2, but unfortunately, it’s not Guillermo del Toro. Instead, "Spartacus" creator Steven S. DeKnight will take the helm of the sequel.

While that’s certainly not what most fans wanted to hear, the fact that there’s been significant movement on the project is definitely a good sign (given that it’s been in development hell for a while now). Sure, del Toro may not be returning to direct, but at least things are back on track with Pacific Rim 2 now, which means that it should start to barrel towards a production start date sooner rather than later.

The current script was penned by Jon Spaihts, and while we have no plot or casting details just yet (Maisie Williams is rumored for a role though, and it’s likely »

Watch 'Game of Thrones' Melisandre Attend a Baby Shower with Seth Meyers

If you've watched NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers over the past two years, you'll likely have learned that host Seth Meyers is an unabashed Game of Thrones fan. The late night host has previously had author George R.R. Martin on as a guest, and last year, he put together a hilarious sketch with Kit Harington as Jon Snow attending a modern-day dinner party. Last night, the host welcomed Carice van Houten, who plays the Red Priestess Melisandre on the beloved HBO series, where they aired another hilarious Game of Thrones-themed sketch featuring Melisandre at a baby shower.

Much like the Jon Snow dinner party, this sketch features a number of references to Game of Thrones. When Melisandre is encouraged to tell a "funny story," she recounts the time she gave birth to a "shadow demon," that then proceeded to kill Renly Baratheon. Obviously, this isn't quite the most traditional baby shower story, »

Yesterday, HBO released over 20 new photos from Season 6 of Game of Thrones, which led many to wonder when the first full trailer will arrive.
