After the entire world's population blacks out for approximately 2 minutes and 17 seconds, which in effect causes the entire world to see a glimpse of life 6 months into the future, an elite FBI task force is formed to investigate who/what caused the global blackout, whether the events foreseen were simply flashes or true events of what's to come, and whether or not it could possibly happen again... I thought the opening episode was awesome. I try not to go into new shows trying to make comparisons to other shows I've seen. I just try to take in what I'm experiencing there and then and if you do that, I think you'll find Flash Forward's opening episode pretty good. The concept is great and they have a great cast of actors. What I especially liked was the suspense of it all, what everyone "saw" themselves doing, who they were with, who they weren't with, and so forth. And lastly, is this a supernatural type of story? A natural disaster or phenomenon of sorts? A deliberate event or experiment? Who knows! The natural fear exhibited by the cast is also fairly realistic, when you place yourself in their shoes. I imagined myself in the same situation... what if you caught a glimpse of yourself 6months into the future? What if you didn't like what you saw? Scary....
The challenge will be to see if they can maintain the intensity through the life of the show....
