Spider-Man: Homecoming gets another new poster

25 March 2017 10:10 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

After yesterday’s release of not one, but two posters for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel has debuted yet another one-sheet for the upcoming film. Unlike the previous two, which prominently featured the Avengers Tower, this one focuses more on Spider-Man’s home neighbourhood of Queens in New York City (though Avengers Tower can still be distantly seen in the background). Check out the new poster here…

Along with Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony is apparently moving forward with a Venom spin-off as well as developing a Black Cat/Silver Sable film, both of which will apparently be unrelated to Homecoming and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with »

Spider-Man: Homecoming gets two new posters

24 March 2017 12:31 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

In the midst of all the Justice League character posters and teasers we’ve been getting over the last couple days, we now have a reminder that there are other superhero movies incoming this year as Marvel and Sony have released two new posters of the anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming. The two posters reinforce that this film takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Avengers Tower looms over the wall crawler in one, and sees Spidey climbing up it in the other. Check them them out here…

Its interesting just how much of a different feel each poster gives. The first reflects the fun and kid-like nature of Spider-Man, balancing high school with his super-heroics while the second poster is more typical of a superhero film, almost calling back to the look of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.

Its also funny how, despite Tony Stark’s prominent role in the trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming, »

The Russo Brothers Line Up New Sci-Fi Movie With The Daniels

23 March 2017 4:41 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

In a plot twist worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster, Marvel filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo have signed on to join forces with the Daniels – the creative duo behind 2016’s Swiss Army Man. Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan will deliver a science fiction movie, which represents the first major film deal for the Russo Brothers and their fledgling production company.

The film currently remains untitled, but will be written, directed, and co-produced by the Daniels. As such, it is expected to feature their very specific, now legendary brand of comedy and drama. Swiss Army Man was their first feature length theatrical film, and quickly stirred up interest on the film festival circuit, with its unusual tale of a man’s bond with a flatulent corpse. The story of loneliness, obsession and connection was striking enough to attract the talents of Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe and Mary Elizabeth Winstead to the cast »

Love: how Judd Apatow rewrote the rom-com rulebook

21 March 2017 10:10 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Rob Leane Mar 22, 2017

Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin and Paul Rust have subverted expectations with Love, a thoughtful, funny and fearless Netflix series...

Love is one of Netflix’s finest original comedies. It’s certainly right up there with Master Of None and BoJack Horseman in the category of comedies that aren’t afraid to tackle tough topics.

See related  The Last Kingdom series 2 episode 1 review The Last Kingdom series 2: politics, battles and arselings What can we expect from new BBC drama, The Last Kingdom?

The show’s vague title means that Love may have flown under your radar, but it also comes with benefits. Due to the broad scope of its moniker, Love is a show without a gimmick, allowing the writing team to go down any path they wish to develop their characters, mine for laughs and tug on our heartstrings. It succeeds regularly on all three counts. »

12 Times You Wanted to Be in a Throuple With Dave Franco and Alison Brie

17 March 2017 4:05 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

It's widely accepted that a sense of humor is the most attractive thing about a person, so Dave Franco and Alison Brie must be extremely attracted to each other. The two hilarious (and, incidentally, very good-looking) actors got married recently after getting engaged in 2015. This truly seems like a Hollywood match made in heaven: Alison has been cracking us up since Community, and Dave has been our low-key funny-guy crush since a bit part in Superbad turned into bigger roles in the Neighbors movies and more. Every time we see these two out together, they seem like they're having so much fun - and are super in love. Here are a handful of the cutest pictures of Dave and Alison that would make you hate them if you didn't love them so much. Related:2017 Is Off to a Great Start For These Engaged Celebrity Couples »

5 Things to Know: Dad’s Murder-Suicide of Twin Daughters Was Partially Recorded by 911

13 March 2017 11:13 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Mounting tensions between an estranged couple fueled an apparent murder-suicide Friday in Illinois, when police say a 48-year-old father fatally shot his twin teenage daughters before turning the gun on himself.

The killings left only one survivor, according to authorities: the girls’ mother, who was shot in both of her legs by her husband.

Police in St. Charles, Illinois, say the murder-suicide was preceded by months of domestic distress between Randall Coffland and his wife, Anjum Coffland, who were separated and living apart. According to investigators, Randall killed himself after shooting his 16-year-old daughters, Brittany and Tiffany Coffland, in the head. »

Ed Catto: Inspiring Creativity – 100 years later

13 March 2017 5:00 AM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

This is a little story of a little town that shifted from stoking fear to promoting creativity.

A few days before Christmas 1949, one of the Catholic elementary schools in Auburn, a small town nestled in Central New York state, encouraged children to bring their comic books from home and burn them in a school bonfire. The fear was that reading comics promoting juvenile delinquency. In fact, the school’s principal would even write a positive letter about the burning that was published in the local paper, The Auburn Citizen. This was before those misguided efforts really gained steam, culminating in the 1954 Senate Subcommittee Hearings on Juvenile Delinquency, focusing on comic books.

But a lot has happened since then. The region gave birth to one of the first-generation comic shops. Several more would follow, and recently the town just enjoyed its first comic convention.
