As this chapter of the series begins, Jonathan arrives at Ray's. His friend is in the bathroom, masturbating, according to Leah. It all has an explanation. Ray, you see, is donating his sperm so that the lesbian couple visiting Ray and Leah can use it for an artificial insemination. Leah is visibly shaken, not having her heart into the idea of Ray siring a child of someone else.
Jonathan receives a call from Michelle Whiting about a skate board that a bully had stolen from her young son. Michelle wants the amateur sleuth to find the kid, Francisco, and get the stolen skate board back to her son. She notices how fidgety Jonathan is acting and offers to give him a massage. That leads to a hot necking session that doesn't go beyond that.
When Jonathan begins his investigation, he is unable to locate Francisco. Eventually, he finds the teen, who turns out to be some piece of work. He enlists Ray to come with his car to help him retrieve the skate board. As he goes to the park where Francisco and his gang is hanging out, Jonathan is able to steal back the board from Francisco, but as he approaches the car, he can't open the door, which leads to a chase. Jonathan manages to get a ride from Ray. The irony in solving the case about the missing skate board is that Jonathan doesn't get his way with Michelle!
George invites Jonathan to accompany him to a new restaurant. He has met the publicist that is handling the opening of the place. George has a confession to make: he loves women axillae! George Christopher's biggest turn on has always been women with underarm growths. The new eatery is a trendy place. The woman chef has prepared a roast pig with all the trimmings. Unfortunately, Francisco and his friends happen to see Jonathan inside. He wants his skate board back. One thing lead to another, and of course, Jonathan stays inside the restaurant. As the main dish is brought to a table near the window, Francisco breaks the glass that flies all over the main dish, ruining the party.
Another funny installment on the series that turns out to be a delightful surprise. Granted, it is not for general consumption, but discriminating audiences will see its potential. Tucker Gates directed the screenplay is by the creator of the show, Jonathan Ames. Jason Schartzman, the author's alter ego, is a great match for the character he portrays. So are the other two regulars, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis. There is an excellent turn by the sublime Parker Posey, an asset in anything she is asked to do. Bebe Neuwirth also has a short scene playing Jonathan's editor.
