Farmer Alfalfa is the roller-skating cop on the park beat who deals with an assortment of animals in this, the second of the Aesop's Fables cartoons he produced and directed for Amadee van Beuren.
Terry is still young and ambitious here. Although the sheer volume of cartoon production -- one a week for the next ten years -- would soon drive him into the simple artwork and recycled gags and plots that he would maintain for most of his career, he takes great care in elaborate character design and detailed animation here. Even the cloud of dust that obscures the donnybrook at the cartoon's end is carefully executed. Although he would recycle many of the gags and characters later (the boxing kangaroo Alfalfa fights may be a precursor of his short-lived Kiko a decade and a half later), here they are still fresh and interesting.
