Goofs

While at the police station waiting to report the UFO sighting, Mr. Monk adjusts the blinds on the door so that they are both on the same level. A few seconds later when the sheriff opens the door to let Dolly out, the right blind is clearly much lower than the left, and both sides are covering the sign on the door. In the next shot, after closing the door, they are once again at the same level, with parts of the signs sticking out below the blinds. Then moments later both blinds are spontaneously lower again, with the bottoms of the signs peaking out from underneath them. See more »

Monk gets punk'd
6 September 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Returning from a wedding with Natalie, Monk sees a UFO on the outskirts of a small town. Their car breaks down and requires extensive repairs, so Monk decides to go and talk to the local sheriff about what he saw. At the same time, a prominent resident has disappeared, and when her mutilated body turns up, the sheriff asks for Monk's help. While all this is going on, a bunch of UFO nuts turn up in town, making everyone's life miserable and declaring that Monk must be an alien. He says very plainly that he is not, which made me think of the fact that Shalhoub played an alien in the two MEN IN BLACK flicks. Shalhoub has a funny bit wandering through the dusty, dry back country, in what amounts to a send-up of every movie ever made that features a man lost in the desert. Daniel Stern guest-stars as the sheriff.
