Storyline

Arthur Christmas reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child's question: 'So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?' The answer: Santa's exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the center of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns. Trivia

The S-1 flew over Trelew, Mexico twice; Firstly, of course, to deliver all the necessary gifts to the residents and children that live there and secondly because of Santa's poor navigation skills, attempting to get the superior present to Gwen, when he, like Arthur, keyed the address, saw a list of 'Trelew's and selected the first one, resulting in Steve descending on the '23 Mimosa Avenue, Trelew, Mexico' address (where Pedro lived, and where Arthur and Bryony mistakenly went into, only to discover a bike-like gift wrapped under the tree there). On the other hand, The S-1 also flew over Trelew, England. Firstly to deliver the necessary gifts to all the other houses in Gwen's hometown and the second time to deliver Gwen's missed present. Goofs

When the seal enters Santa's North Pole Control Center a bird flies overhead and poops on Steve. The continuation of that scene shows no poop on his suit, and then it reappears a short while later. See more »

Quotes

Arthur: [Dressed up as an Alien speaking to the owner of the tractor dealership in Idaho] We come in peace! Our craft has to travel around the world in less than one hour! We need a part for our craft! I could pay you but where I come from, we don't have money!

Crazy Credits

After the end of the credits, there is a seven second scene, all in black silhouette on a blue background. One of the elf-lowering-cables descends, pauses, then lifts up an elf, who proceeds to throw snowballs at the screen until it's all black. See more »

Great Family Christmas Movie
19 November 2011 | by See all my reviews

This was the best kind of family movie -- fast-paced, lots of fun, entertaining for elementary age, middle schoolers, and parents, and with NO bad words or sexual innuendo.

We loved Arthur, Bryony, and Grandsanta especially, as they were the most developed and important characters, and as a mom I appreciated the morals of this story -- every single person matters, never give up, and sometimes old-school is better. Plus, technology is still good and yes, customer service and people skills do matter!

I loved it, my husband loved it and our 8 and 11 year olds loved it. We saw it in 3D that mostly felt 2D, so the 3D in this one didn't pop for us (like it did in Puss in Boots) but maybe it was just nicely subtle -- sometimes the attempt to make things come of the screen is over the top. But I don't remember ANYTHING coming at us this time, so this is probably just as good in 2D.

Bottom line: very enjoyable, good messages, lots of twists and fun humor ... Definitely worth seeing and owning!
