Actress Patricia Heaton says she realizes she faces a backlash in Hollywood over her Christian beliefs. "My feeling is all these things come from God and as long as I know I'm staying in line with Him, I don't have to worry if there is backlash," she told Pop Eater's Rob Shuter during a visit to AOL's New York offices. "God will open any doors he wants to open and if he closes doors that's fine too." She says the intolerance has likely cost her possible work. "We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn't want to work with us because of our politics," she said, speaking about herself and husband David Hunt. Pop Eater has more details. For now, Patricia is online starring in Versailles, an eight-part Web series created by her husband, David Hunt, and available on MyDamnChannel.com. (Image: WENN)   »

Fred Willard, William H. Macy Take ‘Versailles’ by Storm

Today My Damn Channel launched Versailles (pronounced Ver-sales), a new original comedy starring David Hunt, Fred Willard, Martha MacIsaac, Eve Gordon, and featuring William H. Macy and Patricia Heaton. The weekly 8 episode series is about a brother and sister who broadcast public access talk show You're In Sports! from the basement of their local library in order to "live out their fantasies and escape the legacy of their dearly departed mother, a TV star and B-movie actress." Hoyt Hoogerhyde (Willard) finaces the public access sports talks show for his wife Summer Tickler-Hoogenhyde (Gordon) and her grown sibling Colin Tickler (Hunt). Hunt's real wife Heaton plays the late mother, '60s era B-movie actress Evelyn Anders (whose career included films No Phone of Her Own, It's In The Jeans, Please Don't Frug on My Bippy, Kill, Hippie! Kill! Kill!). Evelyn's former student is hilariously portrayed by William H. Macy, as himself. »

To my knowledge, Christopher Guest has yet to do a web series—and I’m not counting those controversial Super Bowl ads he directed for Groupon. So that leaves the mess of online mockumentaries devoid of Guest’s distinctive improv-driven repertory comedy. Luckily David Hunt and (his wife) Patricia Heaton are about to bring us something that should tide us over in the form of Versailles which sets for a May 9th debut on My Damn Channel. Hunt directed and created the series, pronounced “Ver-sales,” (along with Rodney Vaccaro), also starring as Colin Tickler, the son of the late B-movie actress Evelyn Anders (Heaton). Tickler and his sister Summer (Eve Gordon) set out to launch a public access sports TV show from the basement of the local library in hopes of grasping what little notoriety their mother bestowed upon them. Mockumentaries wouldn’t be the same without Fred Willard who »
