Elgin James directed the season 3 finale which is titled "Chapter the Last, Nothing More to Write", it's a phenomenal episode and shows Elgin James in his prime on storytelling. The storylines and character arcs comes together in this explosive finale, lots of build up and it's always nice to see it play out in a great and exciting way. I got nothing negative to say, it was 74 minutes of extraordinary television.
EZ Reyes' character arc this season builds on the previous character development from previous seasons but it's been great this season and after what he said to Gaby in episode 3.09, that he wanted to be with her and move to another city. It surprised me but felt so realistic, honestly the whole character like so many others on Mayans are well written and realistic but also portrayed in a great way. JD Pardo's performance as EZ are one of my favorites, the whole character is relatable and likeable but also flawed. Other character arcs that have been great this season are of course Coco, Bishop and Angel. All of them gave incredible performances, so did many others. I need to praise Danny Pino as Miguel Galindo, his performance as a depressed cartel leader after the death of his mother have been such a blessing to experience. He deserves an award for his performance, no doubt.
Mayans MC's third season have been truly amazing, I found that everything has been improved upon. I think it's the best season of the show and having Elgin James being the only showrunner is probably why that is, now I think Kurt Sutter is great but it always felt like he prepared Elgin for this and he showed that he's ready. Great season and a phenomenal finale, Season 4 is confirmed and I can't wait.
