Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D Trailer!

31 December 2012 6:29 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Why not start the new year with a completely new trailer for the upcoming Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters movie? Good decision. After all, Tommy Wirkola‘s dark spin on the classic fairy tale opens in four weeks, so I guess that now is the right time to see what’s up with our favourite bounty hunters – Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton!

Wirkola directed the movie from a script he wrote together with Dante Harper, and as you already know, the movie will center on Hansel and Gretel who are now bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. So-called expert hunters, or something like that.

Beside Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters also stars Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Derek Mears & Thomas Mann and the movie is set to open on January 25th, 2013.

Is it me or do things seem rather quiet on the Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters front?  I was questioning this last night when I spied a preview on television last night.  Perhaps the film is finally coming out of its shell.

Said TV spot hit the web and you can view it inside.

Directed by Dead Snow's Tommy Wirkola, the film stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the eponymous slayer of witches 15 years after the siblings' incident at the gingerbread house.  The film opens January 25th.

Action Time: 2 International TV Spots For Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters!

Hey, this doesn’t look bad at all! We have two great international (read – Russian) TV spots for the upcoming Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters movie, which opens next month and I definitely recommend you to check them out. And ok, maybe Tommy Wirkola‘s movie is a continuation to the well-known fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, but the truth is that we’re dealing with a pretty weird version of the story in here…

Written by Dante Harper and Tommy Wirkola, the movie is a dark spin on the fairy tale, with siblings Hansel and Gretel who are now a formidable team of bounty hunters. In other words, they now track and kill witches all over the world.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters cast includes Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Derek Mears and Thomas Mann, and Paramount Pictures will release the movie on January 25th, »

John McNaughton Returns Behind The Camera For ‘The Harvest’

12 December 2012 1:00 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

John McNaughton isn’t the most prolific cinematic director in the world. He has only directed 6 films in the last 26 years, and the last one was Speaking Of Sex (2001). He’s probably best known for Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer (1986) and Wild Things (1998). He’s set to return as the director of The Harvest, starring Michael Shannon and Samantha Morton as overprotective parents who keep their son (Charlie Tahan) isolated in a controlled environment. When a new girl moves in next door (Natasha Calis), it upsets the perfectly constructed world of the family. McNaughton has kept busy with TV work over the last decade, but has been working on The Harvest for the last three years. Here’s what he had to say on the project:

This is the first horror script I’ve been interested in in 25 years, so it’s kind of cool to return to the genre… »
