Storyline

The cast from the original Hobgoblins reunites for a 20th Anniversary reunion. The actors share wild stories from the set that you'll have to hear to believe. Inter-cut with clips from the film, it follows Hobgoblins' journey from low-budget straight to video feature, to Mystery Science Theater 3000 hit, to becoming voted one of the worst films of all time. Hysterically funny, the actors don't hold anything back. Several of the cast members are even famous today. Written by Anonymous

Amusing retrospective documentary
4 November 2016 | by (The Last New Jersey Drive-In on the Left) – See all my reviews

Writer/director Rick Sloane and most of the cast from "Hobgoblins" reflect on this infamous clunker with great fondness and good humor. Sloane reveals that he asked Duane Whitaker to be interviewed for the doc, but he turned said offer down and that the film was shot at various locations without permits (they didn't even have a fire marshal present on the set for the guy who gets set on fire at Club Scum). Tamara Clatterbuck admits that she was embarrassed by the crude dialogue her character had to say and tells a priceless story about having to pee behind a bush because there were no Porta Potties present on the location for Reputation Road. Daran Norris was happy that his emcee role was expanded and had a ball playing that part to the hilt. Kenneth J. Hall shows off the one hobgoblin puppet that he still owns. Moreover, everyone discusses their most cringe worthy moments and, naturally, have a laugh over the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode done about the film. Sloane's closing remark is absolute gold: "If you can't be famous, you settle for what you get." A real hoot.
