Amanda Seyfried To Join Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Ted 2′

24 February 2014 5:51 PM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Lovelace and Les Misérables actress Amanda Seyfried has been tapped to join Mark Wahlberg in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2. 2012′s Ted, which featured Wahlberg as best friends with an anthropomorphic, filthy-mouthed stuffed bear, voiced by MacFarlane, scored big with audiences, becoming the highest grossing R-rated film of the year, and also the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever, nailing a final box office haul of 549.4 million dollars worldwide. Markedly absent from the conversation is MacFarlane collaborator Mila Kunis, voice of Meg Griffin on his Fox animated series Family Guy, and co-star of Wahlberg in the previous film as Mark’s love interest, Lori Collins. From what has been reported, there’s no conflict between the Black Swan actress and her network television boss, but rather, MacFarlane has simply decided to take the story in a new creative direction. There is still a chance she will appear in a limited role, but as the story is still being plotted »

Amanda Seyfried Reunites With Seth MacFarlane For Ted 2

24 February 2014 12:26 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It looks like Seth MacFarlane and Amanda Seyfried had a good time working together on the funnyman’s upcoming comedy Western A Million Ways To Die In The West, as the actress has now signed on for MacFarlane’s next film, sequel Ted 2. Deadline reports that Seyfried will play the lead female role in the film, with Ted star Mila Kunis only returning for a brief part.

Though it’s certainly sad news that Kunis won’t be as involved in Ted 2 as she was in the original film (apparently due to creative decisions made by MacFarlane, not anything more scandalous), Seyfried’s involvement means that the comedian is simply substituting one strong actress for another.

Seyfried has wowed critics and audiences throughout her career with leading roles in a variety of challenging projects, from Tom Hooper’s ambitious, acclaimed Les Misérables to provocative biopic Lovelace. Given how »

'Ted 2' Adds Amanda Seyfried

24 February 2014 11:46 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Amanda Seyfried is set to reunite with her A Million Ways to Die in the West director/co-star Seth MacFarlane for the Universal Pictures comedy sequel Ted 2. No character details were given, but the actress is said to be playing the female lead.

Mark Wahlberg is reprising his Ted role as John Bennett, a grown man who lives with his foul-mouthed teddy bear that came to life when he was a child. Mila Kunis, who played John's girlfriend Lori Collins in the original, is said to be returning in a tiny role, that may end up being cut from the film. The decision to give Mila Kunis a lesser role comes strictly from a creative standpoint, and not any animosity between Seth MacFarlane and the actress, who still voices Meg on his Fox animated TV series Family Guy.

14 Things We Can’t Believe Happened 10 Years Ago

Warner Bros TV

To some people 2004 may feel like 2 seconds ago. Of course, just because the world passes an arbitrary ten year mark it doesn’t follow that the ideas of the previous decade are suddenly turned into pumpkins and it’s not until we look back through old photos and browse through old news archives that we realise how much the world has moved forward. For those of us in our twenties it can be a slightly scary thought that we left high school ten years ago, and we find ourselves getting nostalgic when we realise we have in fact turned into Romy and Michele.

Ten years ago Blair and Bush were still in power, Million Dollar Baby and The Notebook had audiences crying in cinemas and Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” ruled the charts. Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse had just released their long awaited albums and Lindsay Lohan »

Red-band trailer for Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West

31 January 2014 2:20 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Fresh from the huge success of his directorial debut Ted in 2012, Family Guy and American Dad creator Seth MacFarlane returns to the big screen with his sophomore effort A Million Ways To Die in the West, whose first red band trailer premiered today.

Will lightning strike twice for MacFarlane in the film arena, or will it be a step too far? From the trailer, it looks he has another like smash comedy that, like his famous animations, isn’t shy on being rude, crude and utterly tasteless. Just the way we like them!

Set in Arizona in 1882, A Million Ways to Die… stars MacFarlane in the lead as local farmer Albert, who with the help of a former gunslinger’s wife (Charlize Theron; Monster, Prometheus), sets out to win back the heart of ex (Amanda Seyfried; Les Miserables, Lovelace) by beating renowned local criminal (Liam Neeson; Batman Begins, Taken) in a gunfight. »

Still, the contents of this list received nothing like the acclaim of The Aviator, nor the financial pickings of a Star Wars or Harry Potter.
