Jackie Chan set a Guinness World Record in the film for "Most Credits in One Movie". Chan carried out 15 of the major creative movie-making roles for the film, including Director, Producer, Actor, Fight Choreographer and Composer, breaking the previous record of 11 credits held by Robert Rodriguez.
There is an end of film cameo appearance by Lin Feng-jiao, Jackie Chan's wife and Jaycee Chan, Jackie Chan's son.
A major fight scene of the action movie cost 70 million yuan (at the 2012 rate more than 10 million US dollars).
In China,This has become Jackie chan's highest grossing box-office film.
Third film Jackie Chan played the character Asian Hawk, the other two are Armour of God (1984) and Operation Condor (1991).

It was originally announced that the film would be released in U.S. theaters sometime in the summer of 2013 with about 20 minutes edited out by Jackie Chan himself in order to optimize the pace and content for North American audiences. This release date was pushed back to the fall; the re-edited version was released on 18 October 2013 for theatrical exhibit exclusively by AMC Theatres.
