Trivia

The movie was announced shortly after the release of the novel with the same name. Ron Howard would only act as a producer this time, with Mark Romanek as appointed director and Dan Brown himself writing the screenplay. However, with the release of Brown's next novel in the Robert Langdon series, 'Inferno', 'The Lost Symbol' has been put on hold, allegedly because of the many similarities in theme and story with National Treasure (2004). Howard has now indicated that he will direct the adaptation of 'Inferno', making the production of 'The Lost Symbol' uncertain at the time. See more »
