On Sunday, October 29, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (Egpaf) will celebrate its 28th annual A Time for Heroes family festival at Smashbox Studios in Culver City.

A Time for Heroes raises critical funds needed to end AIDS in children. Since its founding and the first A Time for Heroes festival 28 years ago, Egpaf has reached over 27 million women worldwide with lifesaving services. As always, there will be delicious food from top local eateries, games for all ages, and high-energy entertainment, including live music by Ocean Park Standoff.

GLAAD confirmed the news at a panel titled “Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Trends on TV Today” at the Television Critics Association press tour. Sykes is no stranger to children’s television, having signed on to play a recurring role on “Vampirina,” the newest show from “Doc McStuffins” creator Chris Nee. Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack' Renewed for Second Season

Andi Mack is sticking around at Disney Channel.

The teen-centered series has been renewed for a second season, it was announced Thursday. 

From Lizzie McGuire creator Terri Minsky, Andi Mack centers on a 13-year-old girl's typical — and not so typical — life with her family and friends.

Minsky executive produces the show with Michelle Manning (The Breakfast Club, Teen Beach 2). Phil Baker (Good Luck Charlie) serves as co-executive producer on the Horizon Productions half-hour.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars in the title role on the series, which begins production on season two in Salt Lake City in July.

Bridgit Mendler has nabbed the lead role in “Thin Ice,” the Fox comedy pilot that hails from “New Girl” creator, Meriwether. Isiah Whitlock has also been cast as a series regular.

Thin Ice” centers on a woman who reclaims her dreams when she finds herself at the end of the earth — in Antarctica — surrounded by a group of brilliant misfits.

Mender will play the central female lead, Lou, who is described as messy and directionless.
