Fresh Cuts: New Tales from Friday the 13th (2009)

*** (out of 4)

The second featurette on the Deluxe Edition of Friday THE 13TH. This one here has the cast and crew talking about certain subjects and I'm sure die-hard fans are going to be familiar with them already but they're still fun to hear. Victor Miller talks about being asked to rip off HALLOWEEN and he talks about the jump ending and how it came to be. Ari Lehman talks about how he was cast in the movie and tells a story about him getting into character and why it made Kevin Bacon laugh. Robbi Morgan, the hitchhiker in the film, talks about the fun of being the first victim (she's actually the third seen) and hearing about how popular the movie was when it was released. Tom Savini talks about what it was like working with Harry Crosby and doing the bow and arrow work on the film. Finally, Henry Manfredini talks about why certain scenes didn't contain any music and he goes into detail about the final piece of music that was used to calm the viewers into thinking the movie was over. Again, none of these stories are going to be new to fans but I always find it fun hearing them over and over again. The best stuff here is from Morgan since we really haven't heard too much from her over the past three decades.
