La Mancha, 1920s. A little girl goes to the village shop for the first time and sees a cardboard doll. She wants it. Her parents cannot afford it, and still she wants it desperately, to no avail. And then one day he friend and neighbour comes to show her her new treasure: a cardboard doll. La Quela's parents are left with no choice but to put together their savings and buy it, and La Quela is the happiest girl in the world. Until one day... she decides to give it a bath.
