Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Will Smith has recently partnered with Chinese filmmaker Eva Jin to develop a yet-untitled hour-long crime drama with his production company Overbrook Entertainment for Fox. The series is set in China and follows a crime-fighting female college student studying abroad. The network has already given the project a script order, according to Variety. It has not yet been decided whether the project will be produced overseas. Smith is also developing an hour-long series through Overbrook based on his romantic hit comedy Hitch, which starred Kevin James and Eva Mendes. Smith is currently filming Men In Black III set for a 2012 release. »
While shooting for Men in Black III began in November, it's going on a two-month hiatus later this month. Sony claims the hiatus was created so that production could "shoot certain exteriors in warmer weather," but reports also say that script issues could be playing a part. Reportedly screenwriter Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 3) was brought in to re-work the original script written by Etan Cohen and David Koepp, specifically the time-travel sections, where Will Smith goes back to 1969 and encounters a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones, played by Josh Brolin.
MTV asked Brolin about the Men in Black III script, and whether he was happy with it. "Sure," Brolin dryly responded before getting serious. "It's not Jonah Hex. No, it's great, it's fantastic, but that's all I can say."

Men In Black was one of the better genre films of the 1990s, perfectly combining Big Willy Style action-comedy with occasionally bizarre science-fiction elements. Then along came Men In Black II, and suddenly I never wanted to watch another Men In Black movie in my life.
Ten years later and Barry Sonnenfeld is making Men In Black III anyway. Starring series regulars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Rip Torn, and newcomers Sharlto Copley (District 9), Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Emma Thompson, Alec Baldwin, and Josh Brolin (True Grit), the movie has, if nothing else, an excellent cast.

Just days ago, news broke that visionary director Neill Blomkamp (District 9) would be making his return to sci-fi with a new film entitled Elysium. But not only that, he'd also be bringing along his ol' D9 chum Sharlto Copely (Men In Black III). Today, Deadline is reporting that Matt Damon (The Adjustment Bureau, True Grit) is in early negotiations to join Elysium. Should that go through, it would be a pretty big get for Blomkamp, likely helping the film find distribution more easily »

Neill Blomkamp is reteaming with his District 9 star Sharlto Copley for a new sci-fi action film entitled Elysium. According to Deadline, Blomkamp is reportedly shopping the film to several interested studios with a graphic novel for the film in tow. Not much is known about Elysium other than it takes place on another planet and is set in the distant future. Blomkamp recently released a strange viral video for Wired Magazine, but it is still not clear what (if any) connection this video has with the film in question. For those wondering, “Elysium” is actually a term used in Greek mythology for a section of the Underworld designated to heroes and other laudatory figures. The term has gone on to have connotations with “Paradise”.

Josh Brolin is looking to direct a feature film version of a play from Dominique Cieri called Pitz & Joe. The project is set up at Warner Bros., and the screenplay for the film will be written by Maya Forbes (Monsters vs Aliens, The Rocker).
The play is based on Cieri’s own experiences and is described as a “two-character drama about a young woman and her brain-damaged brother.” Set five years after the brother’s accident, the story is told using flashbacks to explore with greater detail the relationship between the two titular characters, a divorced painter and a onetime junkie who was severely brain-damaged in a motorcycle accident five years before, who team together in the latter’s recovery.
Stephen Burdman, the director of the play described the story as "a beautiful blend of the past, and how you work through the past to get to the future. The »
After his debut as a director in 2008 with the short film ‘X‘, Josh Brolin seems to have acquired a taste for the job and is hoping to step behind the camera again to direct his first feature film: an adaptation of the highly-acclaimed play by Dominique Cieri, Pitz & Joe. The Warner Bros. production is based on Cieri’s personal experiences, and is apparently a “two character drama about a young woman and her brain-damaged brother”. Although initial reports suggested that Brolin might also be writing the adaptation, according to The Playlist, the screenplay will be penned by Maya Forbes (Monsters vs Aliens) and will instead see Brolin starring in addition to directing. On Monday I got to spend some time with an absolute legend. That legend was made famous by a movie that you might have heard of called, District 9. The man in question is Sharlto Copley who plays “Howling Mad Murdock” in the A-Team movie which came out on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday this week too. The A-Team is a TV series that some would argue has always been crying out for a big budget film version and in the end Twentieth Century Fox turned to director, Joe Carnahan and actors, Liam Neeson, Shalrto Copley, Bradley Cooper and Rampage Jackson to make it happen.
Talking to Sharlto was a privilege and it was the first time an actor of his calibre had heard of our little home, HeyUGuys and and thanked us here at HeyUGuys for helping with the promotion of District 9. I was quite taken aback. We »

Sony's Men in Black III only began filming a few days ago in New York City and already several "spy pics" have leaked out of several of the main cast members, including Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Emma Thompson and Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls. Splash's pics of Smith are really poor in quality and don't really reveal too much, other than the fact that Smith's characteristic "Agent J" outfit doesn't appear to have changed, but the pics posted by DailyMail are of better quality and show Sherzinger sporting an updo that would make Princess Leia proud.
Men in Black III will shoot through the week of Christmas and then take a nearly two-month hiatus, resuming in February. The story revolves around a plot by aliens to travel back in time to kill Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) when he was younger (played by Josh Brolin), presumably to prevent »

Today brings photos of Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Emma Thompson, and Nicole Scherzinger on the set of Men in Black III. James Brolin, Jemaine Clement, and Rip Torn also star, with Gemma Arterton, Alec Baldwin, and Sharlto Copley rumored for small roles. The plot reportedly revolves around the villain Yaz (Clement) travelling back in time to assassinate Agent Kay, which sets off a chain of events that will destroy the Earth.
The sequel started filming this week in advance of a May 25, 2012 3D release. Hit the jump to see the images.
Nothing too revelatory (Thompson’s Mib agent will wear… a black suit!), save for maybe Scherzinger’s Leia-esque hairstyle. But this is Day 2. We’ll get the juicy looks soon enough. I’m excited to see Clement in costume as the extraterrestrial Boris, though perhaps the more interesting aspects of his character design will be added in post-production. »

The plot is reported to feature Agent J (Smith) traveling back in time and teaming with a younger Agent K, played by Josh Brolin. Tommy Lee Jones plays present day Agent K. Men in Black III also stars Jemaine Clement and Alec Baldwin.

Men In Black III. Galaxy defenders. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back on set for the third installment of the series. We even have photographic evidence. Splash News also caught newcomers Emma Thompson and Nicole Scherzinger as well. I was open to the news of another film until I realized that Nicole Scherzinger was in this. You know, that chick from the Pussycat Dolls? She was awful on How I Met Your Mother. The good thing is that she will have a very small role as a villain »

Even though Men in Black III only began filming yesterday after being delayed nearly a month, Sony is already planning on putting the production on hiatus for nearly two months. According to the La Times, the production break, which will begin in December and last until sometime in February, has been confirmed by producer Walter Parkes, who said that the hiatus has nothing to do with any of the recent rumors about in-fighting between series star Will Smith, director Barry Sonnenfeld and Sony.
We had to start shooting this year to take advantage of New York State tax incentives, but we also needed to be able to shoot certain exteriors in warmer weather. So back in July we had the idea to keep the start date but build in a hiatus so we could essentially extend the production to late spring.

Jeff Nathanson To Do Time-Travel Section Polish On Top Of David Koepp and Etan Cohen; Film's Production Broken Into Two Parts After a few delays, "Men In Black 3D" or Men In Black 3," however you want to refer to it, starts production in New York tomorrow and right on time, Columbia Pictures has hired new writer Jeff Nathanson--credits include "Catch Me If You Can" and "Rush Hour 2"--to give another polish to the script. Wait how does that work? A film goes into production and you just hire a new writer? Well, it actually works the way the production… »
Men In Black III starts filming this week in New York City, assembling a cast that includes Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones along with Jemaine Clement, Josh Brolin and Emma Thompson, and involves time travel in a way that may or may not make any sense. And though production is just starting, there's already a shutdown looming-- though depending on who you ask, it's either a scheduled business tactic or a sign that things are not going smoothly behind the scenes. As The Los Angeles Times reports, production is scheduled to run until the Christmas holiday and then not resume until February, when they will start shooting the sections of the film that take place in 1969. One version of the story is that the delay is to accommodate rewrites from Jeff Nathanson, who will be tweaking the script by Etan Cohen starting this week. The other version, the one »
Jeff Nathanson ( Catch Me If You Can ) has come aboard Men in Black III for some rewrites, the Los Angeles Times reports. The film, which begins shooting tomorrow in New York City, has also confirmed its unconventional shooting schedule which will shoot through Christmas before going on hiatus until February at which point production will resume. The sequel, which is said to feature Agent J (Will Smith) traveling back in time and teaming with a younger Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones in the present day scenes and Josh Brolin in the ones set in the past), also stars Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Alec Baldwin and Nicole Scherzinger. The 3D release is planned for release on May 25, 2012. »
The oft delayed production of the third entry in the popular Men in Black franchise is about to begin filming, but the shooting schedule has just taken an unusual turn. Production on the film is set to begin tomorrow, but the cast and crew will take a two-month hiatus when they wrap for the holidays. The La Times reports that the plan for the 3D film is to shoot through Christmas week, and then shut down production until mid-February. The project seemed to be rolling right along, with copious amounts of casting news/rumors in the past few weeks, but it appears that there are a few problems behind the scenes.
Apparently screenwriter Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me if You Can) is being brought in to work on a new draft of the script, previously written by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder). Specifically, scenes surrounding the time-travel aspect of the film involving »
