"Project Runway" recap: "It’s rich, honey. It’s everything.” (Ep. 10.14)

Cue the fanfare. Here we are. Four designers going to Fashion Week! (Ok, more than four, but let’s focus on these.) Two hours of Project Runway bliss! Everyone is grateful and all, “We are living our dreammmm!” Typing that just gave me a sudden idea: Project Runway: The Musical. Somebody make this happen!

But back to the final four, I have to make a correction: everyone is happy except for Christopher. Immediately after the critique from last week, while everyone else is celebrating, Christopher is an angry bird! He says, I won four challenges, bitches! This means I win! (Uh, no it doesn’t.) Why were you mean to me?!

Next day in the workroom, Christopher’s anger has devolved into a sad mopey mess which is exhausting. Everyone else is taking the judges’ critiques to heart and plunging into making changes, »

After first being introduced to Nintendo's dual-screen Wii U console we figured it was only a matter of time before we saw Nintendo 3Ds titles being revived with the HD treatment. A recent interview has revealed that WayForward's Mighty Switch Force! will be the first.

According to the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Mighty Switch Force! HD will be the same game we played on Nintendo 3Ds, but overhauled with high resolution graphics that take advantage of the Wii U's HD output. As one of the first downloadable titles available for Wii U, the new game will also come complete with the bonus levels and quick retry option recently introduced for the original 3Ds version.

“We've really enjoyed developing for Nintendo's download services and really want to be there for the Wii U launch.” WayForward creative director Matt Bozon told Nintendo Power, “While we do have some brand-new games in the planning phase, »

'LittleBigPlanet Karting' Beta Registration Now Live!

2 July 2012 2:15 PM, PDT | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

Get ready Lbp fans, Sony is now officially accepting North American requests for entry in the LittleBigPlanet Karting beta! We're only a few months away from being able to get our grubby hands on the racing title, but before that happens it needs to go through loads of testing. Thankfully they have all of you for that!

Though United Front Games took a serious shot at creating a fully customizable kart-racing game with ModNation Racers, sales were unfortunately pretty slow. LittleBigPlanet Karting is their second attempt and with the lovable Sackboy at their side, ready to get his race on in customizable karts and tracks, things are looking good so far.

The game will feature a full single player campaign/circuit, along with online racing and all the sharing options we've grown accustomed to in the Lbp series. Considering the depth of customization that comes along with Lbp games, and »

The Celebrity Apprentice S012E14: "And the Winner Is..."

Last night's Celebrity Apprentice finale made me really wish Andy Warhol was still with us. He had a manner of deflating celebrities and summing up ridiculous behavior with such cool detachment, and this age would've kept him so, so busy. What would he have ever written about last night's episode? You Know he would've DVR'd the show religiously, probably watched it on Monday mornings. The finale was such a mad scramble for money, for popularity, for the celebrities proving they have friends who will give them...  More >> »

Blethyn's Golden Globes Nightmare

23 March 2012 1:01 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Brenda Blethyn was left scrabbling around on a bathroom floor at the 1996 Golden Globes after she lost her loaned diamond brooch.

The British star was a surprise nominee for her role in Mike Leigh's film Secret & Lies, and bosses at Armani lent her jewellery for the glitzy showbiz event.

However, she dropped the pricey piece during a bathroom break and heard some nasty gossip as she crawled around the floor looking for it.

She tells Reader's Digest, "I'd been nominated for Secrets & Lies and had borrowed a hugely expensive diamond brooch from Armani.

"In the loo (bathroom) it popped off and I was scrabbling around on the floor looking for it when I heard two women at the sinks discussing the nominations for best actress.

"One said, 'Well, whoever gets it it certainly won't be Brenda Blethyn!' I was mortified and waited for them to leave before going back to my seat."

Blethyn got her revenge when she won the prize for Best Actress.

She adds, "So it was doubly wonderful when my category came up and I heard the words: 'And the winner is... Brenda Blethyn.'" »

And the Project Runway All-Stars Winner Is...

22 March 2012 11:18 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It's been a long season but we've finally made it to the Project Runway All Stars "Finale Part 2"

After last week's major meltdown, Mondo seems in much better spirits. He even jokes with Austin, asking: "Does Liza Minelli know you went through her wardrobe?"

Austin, the diva that he is, takes it all in stride by comparing his excitement on the big day to having a "fashion orgasm."

There are actually minimal missteps before the big show and Joanna's there to talk them through it. Austin's trying to hide some pins still in his gown while Michael has to take six inches off of one dress due to an improper last minute fitting. Joanna even rolls a lint brush over Mondo so he looks his best.

The two big guest judges are iconic fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and the fashion director for Neiman Marcus, Ken Downing.

Project Runway Review: So Ugly It's Cute...Almost

9 March 2012 12:58 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The Project Runway All Stars needed to create an affordable ready-to-wear look for real women this week. Unfortunately what the show considers affordable is way above my budget and whether real women can wear most of these outfits is debatable.

"Let's Get Down to Business" featured designer and guest judge Nanette Lepore and her coster giving the designers advice on what their sketches will cost in the real world.

I love that the show thinks most real women have between $300 and $500 to spend on a single outfit. Is that its definition of affordable? Perhaps compared to high fashion, but the vast majority of women I know can't drop that much money on a whim.

But moving on... it is interesting how the coster can look at a sketch and assess how much fabric and labor will be necessary to produce it. Somehow she even magically comes up with a number for Mondo's sketch, »

Project Runway Review: Light 'Em Up

2 March 2012 12:13 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

In one of the strangest challenges of the season, the Project Runway All Stars were tasked with creating an avant garde look using lights on a black lit runway this week. Creative? Yes. Odd? Most definitely.

"When I Get My Dress in Lights" had me thinking more Judy Jetson than high fashion. LEDs, fiber optics, strings, pearl lights, fairy lights. You name it and it was being sewn into or onto a dress.

As the designers scurried through a lighting store, it appeared everyone was going neon but Austin. Austin Scarlett does not do neon and for that, I'm grateful.

Mondo lamented that Austin had become very high maintenance. Become? When was Austin ever low maintenance?

And what was up with the case of the disappearing mustache? In one shot he's clean shaven, the next he's got a furry lip and then it was seen in several stages in between. »

Project Runway Review: Modest or Daring?

12 January 2012 11:36 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The Project Runway All Stars made there way back for "A Night at the Opera" but instead of buying a gown, they were designing one. The catch? They had only one day to get it done.

As Austin, the king of all things couture pointed out, a dress such as this could take months to plan and create. Well... that's why you're an All Star. Here is one day. In the immortal words of Tim Gunn, "make it work."

As the designers scrambled around Mood, Michael realized that April was buying the same color fabric he had planned on using. April's attitude is that she doesn't f-cking care if they're both using red, but Michael was more paranoid after their joint mop dresses from last week. He changed his strategy to black.

The new judges and host are growing on me, but Joanna Coles is Not. Her mentor segment is just so boring. »
