Dr. Royston Daniel

Car salesman Carl Resnick brings CBI the body of Mary Beth Hendricks (27), thinking it's a 'sack of potatoes': resulting from a masterly hypnotic suggestion. But was the killing conform to his deep desire or staged by the hypnotizer? She left her sister Lindsay's employer, Model Life, to work for leading hypnotherapist Dr. Royston Daniel's 'Neurolinguistic Programming' firm. His assistant Carl Resnick confesses to the killing, but Lindsay disputes this claiming Royston was Mary's lover, which he denies. Then another hypnosis complicates and ultimately clarifies everything. Written by KGF Vissers

Great episode, completely had me fooled.
30 December 2011 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

The thing I love about The Mentalist is that unlike other light hearted crime shows, I can almost never guess who the killer is. This episode is probably one of the best five in the first season, which in my opinion is one of the greatest debut seasons of all time! The episode starts with a man carrying a body into CBI, however, thinking it's a bag of potatoes. It takes Patrick Jane to realise that he has been hypnotised and probably didn't kill the girl. But for me besides the clever storyline there are two thing I think I should praise the episode for. 1. The second to last scene were the killer is revealed and Jane is almost thrown of a building. 2. Owen Yeomans acting. He's the man who plays Wayne Rigsby, not only the funniest supporting character but the most talented actor. For one, he's welsh and puts on a great accent and two, the scene where he is with Jane in the park really shows how good an actor he is. So to sum up, a great episode that for mentalist fans shouldn't be missed.
