A Valiant Effort
21 October 2016 | by (Beverly Hills, CA) – See all my reviews

Darryl G. Greenamyer, an excellent pilot for America's aerospace industry leads an expedition to the Arctic Circle to try and salvage a B-29 bomber which crash-landed in that region many years ago.

Greenamyer's innovative attempt to bring back the 'Kee-Bird' (B-29) is a triumph of human spirit and ingenuity. But this story has tragic proportions as one member of the team dies due to injury while the plane itself ultimately catches fire and burns to the ground. Despite these horrific events, this was a brave and remarkable endeavor.

Well worth the 50 minutes it takes to view this fine NOVA episode, especially to aviation enthusiasts.
