Jean-Claude Van Damme runs into some resistance in the form of Scott Adkins in Assassination Games.

International ass-kicker Jean-Claude Van Damme (Universal Soldier franchise) and rising star Scott Adkins (Stag Night) team up in the action thriller film Assassination Games.

In the movie, Brazil (Van Damme) is a contract killer, willing to take any job if the price is right, while Flint (Scott Adkins) left the assassin game after a drug dealer’s brutal attack left his wife in a coma.

When a contract is put out on the dealer, both Brazil and Flint want him dead – one for the money, the other for revenge. With crooked Interpol agents and members of the criminal underworld on their trail, the two assassins reluctantly join forces to take out their target before they themselves are terminated.

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s ‘Assassination Games’ Trailer

Thanks to IGN and Team Jcvd, we now have a trailer for the upcoming thriller”Assassination Games.” Jean-Claude Van Damme is back, this time playing a hitman who joins forces with a rival assassin to take out their mutual target before they themselves are terminated.

Ernie Barbarash (Hardwired) directs the action, which co-stars Scott Adkins, Kevin Chapman, Ivan Kaye, Valentin Teodosiu, Alin Panc, and Serban Celea among others.

Sony Pictures picked up the film for distribution.

Assassination Games (aka Weapon) is set to hit theaters on September 1st and will like go straight to DVD soon after.

After Dark Original Re-Kill Being Given a Separate Theatrical Release

After Dark Films announced today that Re-Kill, originally slated to be released this Friday along with five other films as part of the After Dark Originals “A New Brand of Fear” series, is instead being pulled from the fest and will be held for a theatrical release later this year.

From the Press Release:

Re-Kill was written by Mike Hurst (Hardwired, Ninja) and directed by Val Milev. Roger Cross (The Day the Earth Stood Still), Jesse Garcia (Quinceanera), and Daniella Alonso (Wrong Turn 2, The Hills Have Eyes II) star. Its producers say Re-Kill has shown so much promise that it is being pulled from the festival and will most likely enjoy a wider theatrical release, on its own, later this year.

Hardwired Trailer Will Blow Your Mind. Not Really.

Those with rich, rewarding lives may be unaware of the fact that both Val Kilmer and Cuba Gooding, Jr. have become the undisputed kings of the direct-to-video market, outranking both Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme in terms of overall output. Kilmer’s face can be found on an unusually large number of new titles released over the past six months, with Cuba coming in at a very close second.
