Good short

Nice example of fine short movie. If you want teach more about shorts, you can watch this film. For me, James Wan other creation "Saw 0.5" (too short) is better, but this is also good.

Warning: Spoilers
"Doggie Heaven" is a 10-minute live action short film from almost 10 years ago written and directed by James Wan, director from "Saw". The lead actor is is also the co-writer: Leigh Whannell. A man accidentally kills a dog, gets shot by the owner and lands in heaven, but not the heaven he was expecting. All in all, this is a mediocre short film only. Sadly, the way it uses violence for comedic purpose is not working at all and thus makes it pretty embarrassing at times. The scenes in heaven were the best of the film perhaps and the negative ending was somewhat expected after things went right before that. As a whole, this one does not get me curious about Wan's other works. I do not recommend checking it out. The production values are also really low at times and it does not look too good.

I cried.

I've seen this short, nine minute film twice.

I regret both times.

You will never be the same after watching it. My brain chemistry has been altered forever. I will never be who I was before again.

Incredible

When I first looked at the titles I was a little sceptical. From Saw to Doggie Heaven? But when I watches James Wan and Leigh Whannel's short film I was blown away.

This is not just the story of a man who hits a dog with his car. This is a sensual journey of discovery for a man on the edge who finds enlightenment in doggie heaven.

James Wan was a master of not just showing us an action packed film. But also exploring the possibilities of what life is after death and the possibility of a doggie heaven.

On the acting side Leigh Whannel creates a meaningful character and shows he can be more than just Adam.

I hope that more and more people discover this title and rethink their lives.

An amazing movie about a man who realizes he was horrible when he killed a dog. Of course the woman would stop him as he was bad but then he learned his lesson just to fumble it up. It was so sad especially when the dog was.... Doing something to the man. That scene left me speechless and I cried. Incredible film though, I got the basis of all of the characters and their complexity. Incredible cinema honestly. This film was pure kino and I will be revisiting it time after time. The way Neil acted was also incredible. The acting from both the human actors and dog actors was on a different level.
