Cherry was another of the movies I watched at Fantasporto Movie Festival. Right from the beginning, it was clearly non-European, having the usual faster rhythm of American films. The film relies on three characters - two friends and a woman who comes in between them. But it looks at that premise in a very special way: the woman is not the villain, all of them are villains at some point instead. It twists and turns continuously - like the characters are magnets connecting in the wrong sides. And that roller coaster excuses any weak dialogue that appears here and there. A nice surprise, really.
