An Average Fifth Season Finale
20 July 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

If It's Only In Your Head is the title of the fifth season finale of The Desperate Housewives.Too bad that it wasn't the type of season ender that everyone expected it to be.Just as I predicted from my previous reviews, the somewhat filler episode prior to the penultimate episode and the previous episode that was slow paves way to this type of finale. Before discussing further, let's summarize on the events of the women at Wisteria Lane.

Bree tells Karl about Orson's backmail scheme which made him some plans so that it leads to a divorce. But in the end,Orson just never left Bree. This only proved a roadblock to the on-going relationship between Bree and Karl.

Tom learns that he's been accepted in college. It makes him happy. As for his wife,Lynette was worried that she is experiencing cancer again only to realize in the end that she is pregnant.

The niece of Carlos arrives on Wisteria Lane. Her name is Ana.This proved troublesome to the neighborhood and she proved to be a counterpart of Gabrielle for she definitely is a bitch. It will definitely provide tension and a rivalry in the making between them in the next season.

Finally,Susan still have feelings for Mike while Mike and Katherine are pushing forward with their wedding plans. The love triangle will definitely be something to look forward too in the next season.

Overall, this was an average ending and nothing more. The season was predictable and the events did not draw much attention to me and probably to many viewers as well as it was predictable for the events happening in it are seen a few episodes away before watching this.It was just too bad that the writers could not live up to the humor and drama that they provided in the last four seasons. What's worse, everyone is going to miss Edie. She was written off and many fans of Nicollete Sheridan are going to miss her. I just hope that the sixth season will be a better one.
